I have a power drive now and it still works fine but I am looking into buying the terrova with i-pilot. I see it has humminbird compatabilities and I have all lowrance electronics now. would it make sence to sell my lowrance units get all humminbird units to get the full use for the i pilot features?

Everything the terrova does except the follow the contour (need ilink and a lakemaster) plus it has the jog feature (move 5ft at a time). It has an anti deploy mechanism. It has a wireless foot pedal and hand remote. And it links with Gen 2 Lowrance units.

I know that the xi5 can spot lock "electric anchor" but I do not think it can follow contours. Not too worried about it. The Ipilot will do all of its features with a lowrance unit but Ipilot LINK will not be able to go to a GPS point on the sonar. It can save waypoints on the troller its self 6 spots, I love the anchor mode but I don't save spots just set spot lock by resetting "A" it's faster for me. I loved my I pilot so much I went and got a link head unit and a 959 to run it. Maybe buying a 7 inch 2d humminbird to run only GPS and the troller in addition to the lowrance units you already have, More detail with 2 full image displays and the 7 inch 859 2d sonar only runs $650? And I love Minnkotas trollers performance and customer service not to mention there are good rebates till 6-1-14

Also Ipilot link will not follow contoured lines off of the lowrance,
But when it come to a "lake master" brand chip in a humminbird 800, 900, 1100 it has shallow water highlight, water level adjust, and target depth highlight use the shallow to get red from shoreline to say 7 feet for me, then take the target One at 14 plus 2= 12-16 highlighted in green makes a quick glance at the GPS so easy to see where I am and where I want to be

The motorguide will not follow the contour.but if you want make your own trail waypoints it will do that give it time and it will but for now you have to have it go from waypoint to waypoint

It does not link to a Lowrance unit. They don't have the programming in the Lowrance units and Motorguide units to run your motor on a contour line that is on your map chip.
I don't know where you are getting this info from.

You are correct in the Motorguide not following contour lines. The PinpointConnect will allow users to have the trolling motor follow trails and waypoints saved on a Lowrance Gen 2 unit. I got the info from the Rep at the boat show. The feature is an add on feature that will be released this Spring.
