I was wondering what the thoughts were on this, to those who actually have both rods. Reason being I have the Big Dawg now, and don't really throw any rubber. The biggest bait I throw is the HardHead. You may ask why did you get the big dawg if you don't throw rubber? Because I had the sling blade and felt it was way to fast at the tip pulling 10s, and at the time i believe the big dawg was the next step up and the big nasty wasn't out yet? Either way i am now considering changing rods yet again...

Most used baits in order:
Bucktails - 10's, 9's, and 8's (also still use the single blade Mepps muskie killer)
Hardhead
topwater
suicks
Medium Cranks

Would the big nasty cast and feel much better on the baits above over the big dawg?
I also plan to put a tranx on this year.
Thanks

The Nasty would probably be your best choice for the baits you listed.

That being said, I love the Big Dawg. I use mine for pretty much everything- even down to single 8's and 6" Kickin Minnows. Mine also has a Tranx PG on it.

Big Nasty is a better choice for those baits. I use my Nasty for most of those baits and my Big Dawg for big rubber and big jerkbaits

i use my big nasty for pretty much everything except big rubber, then i go to the big dawg.. but i have thrown pounders with my nasty and it works pretty good.. monster medussas on the other hand i stick to the big dawg. I did pickup a jerk setup this year to try out something more specific for gliders

The Nasty would shine for your blades, cranks, and straight retrieve top waters, but it never hurts to give your Big Dawg some attention too! They're my top two rods.

Thanks, Im pretty much set on unloading the Dawg and picking up the Nasty, I have to measure my SUV first, another 6" may be to long to fit inside the vehicle
