Location: Savage, MN | It simply means that when casting the levelwind doesn't move back and forth with the spool. Supossedly a disengaging level wind is supposed to allow for easier casting. I have a 300ej with it and don't notice any difference in castig ability but do love the reel. |

When casting the levelwind remains in one position and doesn't ride back and forth on the worm gear. In theory this should make the pawl last much longer because it's only making half the number of passes on each cast/retrieve sequence. Edit: Must have been typing at the same time as Skyblaster. |

| It's also not necessary on the Lexa as the spool is narrower thank a Toro. Tranx doesn't have one either. |
