Location: Lake "y" cause lake"x" got over fished | So I bought this at a very small bait shop near MPLS MN. I have used it once. It is very very light. It swims great and is an excellent twitch bait, but is more subsurface then anything else. It does sink, but barely maybe 5 seconds per foot...? Might even be slower then that.
Any thoughts?

| You might call the bait shop where you bought it. They may know the name of the bait. Or, look on Ebay for swim baits.
When you say it is very light, that makes me think it won't become a favorite bait. At least that has been my experience with very light baits. Good luck. |

Location: Lake "y" cause lake"x" got over fished | I have never seen them anywhere, except this one, so I know it is not a "popular" bait... I tried calling the shop and they said they didn't even know what bait I was talking about (of course it was three years later) I have been back there as well and they don't have it anymore. This was the only one in the store when I got it. I guess I am going assume that maybe there was very few made and not many are out there. I doubt this is the only one though
Thanks for the thoughts. Maybe I'll get lucky and someone will have seen another besides this one. But it could just be one of those strange lure mysteries. |

| It looks like the bait may have been made locally. Some small bait shops have bulletin boards where you can post pictures, etc. You might ask the shop if you could post a picture.
The shop owner may know of locals who they bought baits from in the past.
If you are looking for similar baits, you might post a topic in the basement baits section. Another source might be tackle underground (I'm not familiar, but I believe some of the new baits may be created there).
The swim bait looks interesting and whoever made it took some time to make it run as good as you describe it.
Hopefully, someone will be able to id the bait for you.....good luck. |
