Hit the Milwaukee muskie show Friday afternoon and scored some sweet show colors. Also picked up some deals on hoodies and other muskie clothes.

Show was great and the reorganisation was nice. The boats were in front this year. The tank and demonstrations were in the back.

The crowd was light and perfect for talking to all the guides and vendors. Had a blast and scored some great deals.

Muskie Train had a great assortment of colors and show specials. I scored 7 baits from Mike.

Slammer Tackle came loaded with plenty of stock and selling lots of baits. Bill has some great new colors and prism stuff. I had to buy a few more Slammers to add to my stock.

Suick had some awesome new colors in the plastic and wood baits. I got a few of the high impact plastic Suicks. They also had a full assortment of the new rubber baits they are selling. Shack Attack!!!

Just Encase had some more custom additions to his awesome line of muskie gear and cases.

I can go on and on vendor by vendor but you just have to go check it out for yourself.

What did you get from the Milwaukee Muskie Show???

I don't like the tank in the corner.

In the past, it was more visible down the aisle, when you got to the end of an aisle, there it was. Plus, that corner is dark.

$3.50 for a bottle of soda or water - bring your own and save your money for lures.

It think there more smaller, "unknowns" - by that I mean not common names in the industry - that's a good thing. I thought we were headed to an industry of just a few giants.

Picked up some of the "old favorites" in new show colors. Bulldawgs, Baby Squirko's, DCG's however most excited about "Ortin". Check out the H2O tackle booth on this cool WTD bait. Multi weight system with a rocker design so you can fine tune it to really turn and show it's sides. Who knows if it will work out as well as advertised but appears to be a really well thought out WTD bait for $20.

Enjoyed the show but missed the lure manufactures being able to demo lures in the tank. I am also excited about the Orton. Can't wait until spring.

Among other things I was looking for a specific bucktail and was having trouble, even with the thousands available, until I ran across a guy that custom made any bucktail color combo you could think of. Pricey, as is everything nowadays, but I got what I wanted.

Also bought a killer secret bait that will be revealed to the boys in Canada. You should see it!

Here's what I got... All for under a $100. I was happy because I got some things I specifically came for which are hard to find or you can only get that the shows - like that Mag Dawg. The Grinder is the 3oz version which not too many places carry. I've been looking for that metallic sucker Bagley DB08 for a long time, but didn't expect to see it on the Guides Choice rack (still had one left yesterday in that color plus other colors).

I enjoyed talking to Mike from Fudally when I bought that Stump Hawg. I told him I had a hard time getting a hold of him like others on this site have mentioned. He said the best thing to do is send him a fax if you need something.

I showed surprisingly good restraint although there were about a dozen baits that would look good hanging in my boat. Bruce Shumay tied up a custom bucktail for my son. I'm looking for new electronics and need to spend lightly.

Thanks to all who stopped by the Slammer Crank Bait Booth. It was great time with both old friends and new ones we have just made, and we sold a couple of baits too! It was a great show!
I hope that all of you get your shot at your 50"er with all your new "secrete baits" this year. Remember to lift with your legs not your back for the pictures!
We will see you next year, God Willing!

Had a blast. The fiancé and I made the trip from ohio Friday. It was her valentines day present for me. I ended up coming home with a ton of stuff. I picked up 3 underdawgs, 2 medusas one for me and a pink one for her. 2 shadzillas. And a kandy. It was fun talking to all the vendors thanks to everyone involved in it! We then did dinner and Lucille's piano bar for my end of the deal. It was a great time in a really cool city!

I think the best new product find at the show was the Knot 2 Kinky products. Keith stopped me because he saw my Zalt hat, Zalt Sweden distributes his products there.

http://www.aquateko.com/

He's got some amazing products, especially the Knot 2 Kinky Nickel-Titanium Leader Wire. Amazing stuff, thanks Keith!

Of course I got some other select loot, I'll post a photo later. I had a great time chatting with various vendors, they made my wallet a little lighter. I also did this years Canada trip final booking confirmation for Cliff Lake. Had a very good chat with Mike K. (esox2hart), its definitely going to be a long wait until July 27th. LOL- I'm going to be picking his and Tyler's brain's about Cliff at the Madison Fishing Expo too-> more indepth post trip research.

Have fun!

Had a woderful time like I always do, and my musky juices are starting to get un-thawed pretty good. I'm a little old and unacustomed to $3.50 for a bottle of water or a Coke. It made $5.00 for a beer pretty cheap by comparrison so that's how I dealt with it.

Spent waaaaayyy too much money! But, booked a trip to St. Clair, booked a walleye trip up north and got a few new lures, then settled into the Milwaukee Muskies Inc. booth. Had quite a few people sign up for memberships, which was great to see.

Really looking forward to getting on the water this year!

Thorn Bros does not carry our product right now. Just email me and I can direct you to other retailers that do carry our TI products. We have a lot of great retailers that can help you out with as good or better prices too.
Thanks,

Glad to hear that the Milwaukee Muskie Show producers are starting a new Muskie show in the Chicago area. The Harper show although always great had been slipping from what it once was. With the passing of one of the producers, perhaps it is time to let it go.

Went down Saturday with the wife and kids. It's a good thing the misses came as it forced me to keep the wallet close to the hip. Re-upped my Musky Hunter subscription and bought a nice hoodie they had. Swung into the Musky Mayhem booth and picked up a couple of Electric Bunnies in colors that you just look at and say, "that has to catch fish!" I really like those baits. Think those will be tough to keep off the line. Had my 3 year old running around like a crazy man, but everyone was great and he got hooked up with some free swag. Worth the trip for sure.

Please keep in mind the Swap was Shep's project sponsored by Tuffy Boats and supported by MuskieFIRST. It was not affiliated with the show, just as the Chicago Swap had zero to do with the Tri Esox, that's a food drive fund raiser operated by Slamr. Thanks to Shep and Slamr for a great swap at Milwaukee and Chicago this year!

First off thanks to all the vendors who support the Milwaukee show!!Being a see touch and feel guy with baits I was disappointed I couldn't find the KLACK bait! I thought this was the new rage and it wasn't even there. I was ready to spend hundreds on extra blades but nobody had any this year. Anyway I picked up a killer 9ft custom rod which is truly a work of art! Thanks Jeremy!

I didn't work too hard this year. Secured the room, and altered previous years' flyer, and posted it here on MF. Was a great swap turnout, and I think most had fun. I know I did. I was a little preoccupied with my vacation to AZ the next day. Now that was a lot of fun! 86 when I got off the plane, and 5 minutes after I got to my brother's, had my first margarita nearly gone!
