Anyone have a chance to check these out? Curious on the 9'6" weight and lure range. If it does dbl 10 and mag dawgs, that would be ideal:-) also curious on collapsed length. Thanks. BR

I took a look at these rods at the show, and they seem nice. I didn't pull the trigger though, for the following reasons:
1. Compre is available in either split or full grip, but the telescopic are only split grip (in the compre line only - the convergence has full grip telescopic). At least that's what I was told, and that's what they had at the show in both the shimano booth and R&H's booth.
2. The compre comes in 8'6" XH, 9' XXH, or 9'6" XH. I was looking for a 8'6" or 9' XH with a telescopic full grip. Again, that's what they had at the show - there may be others, but I couldn't find them.
3. The convergence series offered that, but were noticeably heavier and had a noticeably softer tip than the compre XH.
As above, the rods seemed nice, but just couldn't offer the specific combination of length, telescopic, full grip, and action that I was looking for. I went with a TI 9' XH, which I know get rave reviews around here. I am worried about the handle length, but I'll give it a shot.

Maybe under the same tent but there's a huge difference between compre and gloomis rods, and im not talking just about price. To each their own, but those last telescopic compres burned me enough to not consider them again. I still own two of the dark green compre with the muskie on them. Those were nice rods, albeit not long enough.
