I'm looking for a new carrying case for my lures. Right now I have all of my baits in Plano clear 3700s, and have a few canvas Plano bags that I use for transport. My boats have ample storage in them however I switch back
And forth between them often and would prefer to keep my gear in bags unless I am doing an extended trip on one body of water. I was looking at the Plano Guide Series Hydro-Flo Bag which holds seven boxes, but am not sold on any one item/brand. I looked at the Lakewood boxes, but they would require me to pull everything from the 3700s, and I like the versatility with individual boxes. I'm sure at some point I will have to much gear to make this feasible, but at this time it works for me. I just need a carrying case for the boxes. Thanks in advance,

I just bought the new Cabelas Advanced Angler super magnum sized bag and it's great. I actually put a hanging divider rack in in and can still fit 4 more size 3750 boxes in it too. Seems to be well made, but I guess only time will tell. It also has plenty of external storage for all kinds of things. Only draw back is it's not waterproof, so I've got a trash bag in the side pocket in order to cover it when needed.

I have most of my stuff in a "Special Mate" box I bought last year (supporting the Take a Vet Fishing organization). Really like that. It's a plastic box with hanging dividers on hinges. Everything that doesn't fit, I have in Plano boxes. If I'm in my boat, I have plenty of room for all of it (I only have around 100 lures at the moment). If I go in a buddy's boat, I just pull the lures out I want that day and take a couple Plano boxes with me.

I also have a Lakewood "Pedestal Pal". I mostly put bucktails in that. Only take that in my own boat...again, pull out the ones I want for the day if going in a different boat.

I have gone the other way with tackle. I have two pro-pole buckets I load them up and then have one Plano box for bucktails & one for tough times or smaller baits. I throw 3 tops plastic jerks in the boat. I found that rarely carrying more baits ever really helped on the catch rate. About once a year I feel I am missing a bait that would work, but I can trace that to my lack of planning. I fished for years back in the day with 5 baits in the boat, That was all I owned, so I know it works. jake

Something maybe along these lines? This is probably the more expensive option. http://www.lakewoodproducts.com/products/Musky-Cases/A066-5-Pac-Mag...

Lakewood medium is decently light and plenty of mobile storage! I love mine!

X2 , and I keep my dawgs in Plano 3700's or 3730's (Can't remember which number doesn't have dividers.

chadw18 - love your signature line "Well at least I got a pike". Said many times a summer in my boat.

I used to do the same thing you did. It worked for awhile until I started investing in trolling baits. I like the Lakewood Mediums. Perfect size for storing a bunch of baits and it's not too big to travel with. The Older ones have a back pocket that's big enough for a 3730. There is one in the classifieds for $55. Great price you should see if he will ship it.

I use the Bass Pro Shops extreme boat bag in the large size. I think it will fit 7-8 of the 3700's with some room to spare. Has interior pockets on the sides, and a mesh sleeve on top for my raincoat.

Tackle Box Tote Bags from Amish Outfitters hold 3 3700 boxes, are water resistant and are build very well. I can carry two in each hand comfortably, that's 12 boxes. Cost-$11.95

These work great as mentioned above. Since you have boxes you can just get the bag.

DO NOT GET THIS, Its saggy without being full, it falls over a lot, harder to see which box is which, its zippers are a pain and its not the easiest to get boxes in and out.

I'm not entirely sure I catch any more fish now than I did 25 years ago when all my lures fit in a Styrofoam minnow bucket. The perfect box doesn't exist I've tried them all.

I have and use the Lakewoods Musky Hybrid. I get the best of both worlds with plenty of hanging lure storage and room for my deep Plano's too so I have my Go-To lures hanging and I swap out Plano's depending on the waters I'll be fishing. Plus my box becomes a deck extension that you can stand on. It's a solid product.

Keep yer eyes peeled or one of these.
They come with dividers but removed mine can handle up to 8 deep planos.
Hot glued a removable vertical rack out of downspouts for it to for hangin baits too.
Waterproof zippers, tough as nails, and lots lighter than the lakewoods.
Mine's silver vinyl but identical to this one.
They can be had for $30ish on the bay. Search for large tackle bag and be patient.
If I lost mine i'd look for another.

That Shimano bag looks sweet, found it on eBay and it costs $90, not $30.

Yeah..
That's why I said they CAN be had for $30 if you're patient.
Thanks so much for your valuable addition to the thread.
