Location: Lincoln, NE | Anyone try one of these yet? Look like a great rod, especially for the price and comes with a Lifetime Warranty. I might have to try out the 7'6" XH for a jerkbait rod rather than drop almost 3 times that much for The Jerk Legend Tournament. Plus my Okuma Isis would look killer on it. |

Location: Lincoln, NE | It has held up great. I now run a NACL 60HS on my Big Nasty but only cause I needed a low profile reel cause my left wrist is messed up from a tubing accident and a car accident. I've used it for everything from pounders to twin tens and even a homemade triple 12 hurricane. I don't burn twin tens all day though but when I throw them I crank them at a decent pace. I used the rod and my body for the hurricane mostly though, didn't just winch like a mother. It's a good reel and a cheaper alternative to a lot of the high end stuff but I got my NACL from Gander Mt. for $250 when they run their sale $50 off $250 or more order. I paid $179 for the Isis I believe. I like the NACL better but the Isis does come in left hand so that is a great option for some people. I guess I'd say if you need left hand or like round profile reels and don't want to spend over $200 it's a great reel. But if you can spend $250 I'd go with the NACL. The Isis is definitely durable though. As are all the Okuma products I, my dad, sister, friend have used. We haven't had a single reel or rod fail. But that being said it is a lot to do with how you treat the equipment. I always barely have my thumb touching the line when casting to prevent backlash/instantly stop it. Also when you're casting pounders if you can click the thumbar while its still in the water not when it's putting a load on your rod in the air, that helps. I also always put my left thumb on my line/spool when I'm ripping crankbaits, etc. When reeling in when trolling pull with the rod and reel in the slack, don't just crank away on the reel. There's a lot of little things that collectively can make the difference between any reel lasting a long time and shelling out in a week. I've only used the NACL on two trips so no long term review of it yet other than I love everything about it. |

Location: Walker, MN | That Shadow Stalker looks like it could be a good inshore rod or for a light bucktail or topwater set-up. I think I'll stick with my EVX's for 'skis though. |
