1998 Fish Hawk 1650. Cool thing about this boat is I can tow it with my Park Avenue and on calm days I can go out on Lake Michigan and try for some Salmon. Tows a tuber around with no probs.

I think half this site has fished out of my boat, but there's been several changes to it since the Sled Years. Saw her first saltwater ever this year and she's an AK girl now.

I have a 2009, 1850 Crestliner.
The carpet is already wore out around the front pedestal.
It's pretty scratched up, but I fish out of it, just about everyday, for five months, a year.
It's tucked away, in a garage, near the Big V.

I went outside to take a picture of my boat all tarped up and covered with a foot and a half of snow and a half inch of ice. It was just too sad a sight. Another ice storm forecast for tonight. I'll take a picture in May.

2013 Ranger 1860...

I really like the Ranger 1860 and the new 1880. Perfect size of boat for me. I might buy one as my current boat, Triton 189 is getting old. Only thing I don't like is the dash design. Wish they would fix that. Probably works fine but I think it is ugly....maybe just me though.

so... Here's the rig. Back story, this is my first rig. Bought it used from the original owner in MINT condition in May 2013. August tornado puts a shed on it10 days before a 10 trip to Oneida/Vilas for fishing. Boat was damaged but i put her back together best I could and smeared some slime on it to boot. I think she liked that.

Attached is a picture of my new Muskie Rig right along side my old rig. The new one is the nearest one which is a 2004 618 with a 2011 15HP E-tec. This was a picture just before I bought it. The one is the back ground is my old Muskie Rig, a 1999 R73. I have had my eye on the 618 for a few years and when it came up for sale I could not pass it up. Pretty obvious but I like red. I am in the process of finishing up the change over on the 618 and the R73 is for sale.

What's up with the second console on that 618? Never seen that! Custom? If so, nine work.

i'm pretty sure that's Dick Pearson's old 618. he had someone make the second console for him custom. it does make for a heckuva lot nicer ride on a stormy day if you happened to forget your raingear...

Mike you are correct, it is D.P.'s old 618. Ryan Anderson ( Fish Wizard on here I believe)added the second counsel and I believe the storage/deck extension in the front. One of the selling features to get my gal to go for the purchase. Ryan did a great job and it almost looks like it was factory made. Boat has a lot of karma, just hope Pearson did not use up all of it.

Got to ride in one during a bass tourny this summer. I'm a Ranger fan, but given the option I'd be hard pressed to pass on those Legends. Incredible.

They are one of the smoothest rides out there, had mine in 3+ foot waves last fall a could barely feel them at 50mph, of course that is going straight in to them or at a angle. I heard that they are working on a multi species but could be hear say.

If you have the nuts, running 3 footers is easier on your body in a fast bass boat than a big multi species....I get way more beat up in my 621 vs my old 195 vs ..if you are willing to "skip" the waves, 3 footers feel pretty comfortable doing 50 in a bass boat...not a good situation if you spear one though

I rode in a 20' Ranger bass boat on LSC doing 60 Mph+ in 2 footers. I had to hold on to the family jewels as they were taking a pounding.

Haha, I can just hear him say that too!

That type of rig would probably work when it's calm. However, I bet he regretted not securing the chair a little better after leaning back in it a few times (while drinking a beer would be perfect) and ending up flipping backward into the lake. Probably some easy money to be made there on AFV… wonder where he's from?

Here is the old 1675 Explorer AKA - Snag King. Not the perfect casting boat, but I fish two with her a lot and she doesn't do bad. I extended the rear deck, which helps the guy in the back. Good for big and small water and is very versatile. That is what I like about her. Can't wait till March!!!!!

2007 ranger 620. Opens up a lot of options for me. Fishes comfortable and safe. And can even take the family out. I have enjoyed it so much in the two years I have had it. Local waters, LOTW, St Clair and lake Erie for now, but willing to travel.

Wow, that Herter's guideboat is fantastic! Glad to see it so well cared for. Not being from Wisconsin, I've never seen the sense of row trolling, but always admire the patience and determination of those who do it.

My friend's grandmother, a tough old Italian lady, loved to row troll for pike and she did so from a wooden boat until the year before she died at 92 y.o. Now that's dedication!

Your boat has me thinking of all the winter evenings my brother and I spent thumbing through the Herter's catalogue, reading those wonderful descriptions over and over again, dreaming of the day we'd own one "just like that", whether it be a shotgun, a fishing rod or reel, a trap, or a bottle of scent. What a great company; losing them was like losing an old friend.

Thanks for posting.

NOT your typical muskie fishing machine! Maybe less efficient as a casting platform but really comfortable while trolling in 3-footers

1991 BW Outrage 17/2005 E-Tec 90hp

The pics was taken on splash day when freshly picked from South Carolina. Had since added a bow mount Minnkota and Traxtech rails to fit the Down-East.

A friend of mine has one almost exactly the same rigged with a jet drive Yamaha. Although not my preferred layout, we do launch and get into a lot of skinny water with it, places I could never go with my Lund. Glad you enjoy it.
