Location: Mauston, Wisconsin | As we travel and fish, we all have to fuel our bodies! Here are some that I like.
Little Crane Cafe - Necedah WI Great food, a hidden gem!
https://www.facebook.com/LittleCraneCafe
Buckhorn Cafe - Necedah WI (see their map) Another hidden gem, great Polish food, you won't walk away hungry, a little out of the way but worth the drive.
http://www.buckhorncafe.com/
Maggie Mae's Cafe - Oxford WI - Great food - killer biscuits & gravy.
http://www.maggiemaecountry.com/the_cafe.html
Acoustic Cafe - Menomonie WI -Great sandwiches & soups.. they do serve meat!
https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Acoustic-Cafe/45990279965
Greens - Nestor Falls, Ontario - I like the ambiance- old photo's imbedded in the bar. The photo of the moose and the hunter is a real treat if you're a hunter. To bad some nice tryhole stole the original.
http://www.panoramio.com/photo/3622693
Monique's Lawg Cabin - Nestor Falls, Ontario - Great place for breakfast, friendly staff. (Bob Pieske's recommendation). The only thing better is breakfast at Bob's.

What are some of your favorites & why?
Happy New Year!

Location: Northern New Jersey | Hot Dog Johnnies in Butzville New Jersey. Within minutes of two great musky fisheries. They fry the hot dogs in peanut oil, steam the buns, and slap a few tablespoons of raw onion on with a pickle. Now THAT is living |

I know its a chain but it really is geared for muskie guys, and the service and food are consistent, which can be a problem Up North. Stare at 49# muskie while sipping a 22oz muskie melon iced tea and gorging on ribs. |

Location: minocqua, wi. | in the Minocqua Area it's hard to beat the Bowling Alley for parking space, quality/quantity of food at a good price. it's the one place that hasn't subscribed to the notion that there can still be a small town local price value for food. they make their own pizzas that are very good and serve a great burger. |

Location: Sycamore, IL | Breakfast at the Outdoorsman in Boulder Junction has become a bit of a tradition for us when we're in the area...we usually roll in after fishing the morning bite and their coffee and eggs really hit the spot! Nice folks in there too...
Broasted Chicken at the Sayner Pub is awesome after a long day on the water...or before hitting the night bite.

That Famous Dave's doesn't feel like a chain...definitely a great spot and right on Round. My personal favorite for Hayward area has to be Angler's Haven.
On the way up, Barronett Bar and Grill is a must stop. Northwoods feel, very good food. Although I wouldn't recommend Rick's Hot Pepper Burger unless you're nuts. Absolutely scorching...the next day too.
I tried Polecat and Lace for a fish fry last time I was in Minocqua. Really a cool spot...old school Wisconsin supper club. The food was excellent. |

Location: oswego, il | When going up north we usually hit the adventurers in rice lake. If your going by one at an off peak hour try a Norsk Nook. Forget it at a peak eating time unles you like to wait but its good food.
Webster area barbee motel has great pizza and karaoke if you don't mind that.
on the way to Shelbyville Phillipos or Hickory River BBQ in Mount Zion. Hickory River closes early even on weekends for whatever odd reason.
ellas in woodruff is good food too.
if you don't go to mama mia's right by the Milwaukee musky show you are cheating yourself.
Micky Lou's in marinette makes little sliders from heaven.

Oh and Dont Forget to stop in Paul Bunyans in Minocqua on your way home for a loggers meal! Two thumbs up for the White Tail Inn and Blink Bonnies. Blink Bonnies steaks on cast iron skillets and butter are the only steaks finer than the ones I cook at home on the grill for myself and my family. Blink Bonnie's could use some new taxidermy, however! Lol
