| Say I wanted to try fishing some dawgs more next year, which ones are on everybodys must have list? Size, color,I wanna buy 5-6 good ones tops,I have enough lures in the army just need a few of the proven producers.mainly clear water so I'm thinkin natural perch and walleye of course but what else? |

Never without blue in clear water so the blue cisco, blue/silver or, sexy shad would be at the ready also.

| Well I'm sure after I get bit, it always happens but I need a good place to start with. I think I'm goin to buy 8-10 regs and mags in perch,walleye,black/orange,lemon tail, blue Cisco and eel pout. Should get me started.these,a dozen new bucks and a pair of new/used rods for my late Christmas present to my self. |

| My advice...buy 3 different colors at the most to start out with. Buy the colors you have confidence in. Once your baits are bit up and falling apart...get more. |

| Forget the Regs and go for the Mag Dawgs. I 2nd Baby Mallard.. dawgs can suck a lot of $100 bills out of you real fast. |

-Get 3 -4 different colors ( natural, bright, white, black)
-Get a few shallow versions too- they glide awesome
-And get mostly MAGNUM sized Dawgs
The people I know who don't have much luck on Dawgs, are almost always throwing the reg size and not the Magnums. I know regular size Dawgs have a time and place, but the Mags rule. By far.
IMO they displace and move so much water that I believe the size IS the major trigger factor. Kinda like a Dbl 10 bucktail. Undeniable in my book.

Location: Perryville, MO | It's been said many times before, but consider buying a Hardhead. Shallow and deep with the same lure. And new rubber tails are a whole lot cheaper than a new bait. While I'm not that great of stick and may not get all the intricacies of using rubber, I seem to be able to get a HH to do the same things as a dawg. (I don't know...I'm probably missing something though.) It has been a great bait for me, anyway.
As far as colors, I agree with everyone else (black, white, natural - walleye or perch, and something bright). I'm surprised guys haven't made a big deal over walleye with an orange tail. |

| I would look at tackle industries. In my opinion you get a lot more for your money. I have had good luck with his orange walleye pattern as well as several of his other ones. |

| I also say look at TI. I have a bunch of Dawgs, Dussas and Super Ds. The softer rubber on the Ds is really nice and they are much cheaper. |

Rubber baits get destroyed no matter what, so you might as well go with a tougher rubber. The old medussa's compared to the new ones are a great example. Stick with dawgs instead of superD's IMO. |

| Instead of just going all out with Dawgs or Super D's, I would get a few of both. They have slightly different actions and characteristics, and you may prefer one to the other. They are both good baits and both have uses, so does the Hardhead. I feel like if you are really into these style baits I would try all three. Color selection will depend on what type of waters you are fishing, but you can't beat an all black or a cisco in my opinion. I could get by for the rest of my fishing life with just those two colors. |

I put them in large ziplocks and store them in deep Plano boxes. It keeps the hooks from tangling and colors from bleeding but is not ideal if you change baits a lot. Takes a bit to get them in and out of bag. |

| I just use the deep Plano boxes and it works fine. I haven't had an issue with bleeding but I also don't mix different brands of plastic baits together. |

Brad, I think you have some of my older SuperD lures but you should really try our new SuperD lures. We are on design generation V now. The new rubber is fantastic and the new harness is really cool too. Same full body coil harness to keep the rubber in tact after multiple hit but we moved the weight system around. About 30% of the nose weight was moved back to give the new SuperD lures more of a glide vs that 45 degree hopping action. Found that more guys like the longer glide vs hop so we made the change mid 2013. Also got 18 new custom color SuperDs in 5oz and 8oz along with the current 42 stock colors. Over 500 SuperD swimbaits to pick from! Nobody even comes close to that much variety in colors and sizes as Tackle Industries.

| Ive been keeping mine in a deep plano boxes as well. All brands in all colors in the same box. No bleeding except on one yellow Storm(forget what they called them) now has a dark spot from another black Storm on the tail. Dussas, Dawgs and Ds have not had any issues that I have seen. |

For me... It's hard pulls with mixed in taps, jerks, tap-tap- pull. Mix it up and they will eat.
..... No wrong way but they hang and glide nice when tapped after a hard jerk.

Location: Minnetonka | I had good success with the Mag walleye Pro Dawg and Pounder UV Reflex Cisco. In the summer, I count the walleye down (mags sink at ~ft/sec.) at the outside of weed edges and work it back in 4-6 foot rod sweeps. I worked the cisco more in the fall, outside of bait balls. Patience is helpful and having a high gear real to pick up slack line quick is a must, if you want to miss less fish. |

Sorry just saw this. Moving the weight back gave my SuperD lures more of a glide vs hope. I did this as about 80% of my customers wanted more of a glide vs hopping action. Our SuperD lures also run deeper for the same weighted lures with the exception of our Reg shallow SuperD. Had nothing to do with Dawgs but customer and pro feedback. Dawgs were the reason I made my SuperDs though.... 8 years ago I wanted to make a swimbait that was really tough and could boat multiple fish and still be fish-able and more affordable for my customers. I think it worked out for everyone as todays Dawgs are some of the best MI has ever made! Competition does that. Beautiful looking lures they are. If you get to the Chicago show you really need to take a look at what MI has done this year. Don't worry, SuperD lures are also looking great too We have 14 new custom colors we brought to the Chicago show plus our new Camo-D lures for Veterans. Come check us out. We are just to the left inside the front door where you pay to get in. Can't miss all my rods sitting there... We will be at a few more shows this year too. Madison, Milwaukee, Wausau and Minneapolis.
