Location: Central Wisconsin | I am looking to get a new multipurpose rod for next year, 8 or 8'6'' 2-8 oz. It will be used for jerks and bucktails. St. Croix guys is there a big difference between the two? And for the volatile I have heard negative things about the synthetic grip? All input is appreciated!

| Are you limiting yourself to those two St. Croix rods due to price point? |

| If i'm not mistaken I believe the 8'0H was a trolling model unless they added one? My recommendation is the 8'6 H or XH premier. The new ones have the same reel seat as the LTs, they extended the rear handle length on them, and they're made in the US. |

| I cant stand the split grip or color on the Mojo. So that would put me into the Premier. |

Premier is offering a few new models this year. Look at their site.
I agree 100%. I have the Mojo H 8'. I will buy the new Premier 8' XH this season, but keep the mojo also and fill in the exposed blank with tennis racquet grip tape.
If you like the split grip, the MOJO is great for the cash, and I have a bunch more of them.
My experience is:
Split grip is great for baits if you hold the rod in your hands only, for a few hrs throwing blades this is no issue. Once you get tired or if you are using your ribcage for leverage/ripping baits it sucks.

Location: Central Wisconsin | Yeah the Lt is just out of my range! I have a full grip XH MI now and like the full grip. Thanks for the inputs. |

Location: Grand Marais, MN | How long do you like the back handle section to be? I have the mojo and premiers, i prefer the premier for the full grip but wish it was like 3 inches longer in the back grip. |

| Mojo and premier use the same blanks. I'm a split grip fan so I went Mojo, but I also have premier solid grips as well. IMO those two rods perform fantastic and they hired new people in the US to manage those lines.
I don't believe they moved assembly to Mexico, they simply added lines in Mexico so that they could offer products at a lower price point to compete with products made in Asia. This means they had to hire people in the US to engineer, manage, and market these new lines. Simply put: we gained American jobs and new product options with the Mojo series. As one guy already mentioned, they're adding to their Premier line which is made in the USA. |

| Are the Mojos made in mexico? I thought that was just the Triumph line. Triumph line was made in China and now moved to Mexico. From what Ive read/been told the older Triumphs made in China were better quality. Not sure how much truth there is to that though. Ive also been told it is the same blank as a Premier just not finished as nicely with different guides on them. |

| Some of the Mojos were actually built in Park Falls for a short time during the transition from China to Mexico. i have an 8' heavy power rod i built on a mojo blank i picked up from the factory as a closeout or overstock during that time. Its definitely a different blank than any of the premiers, although both are SC-II graphite. |

Location: Alsip, IL | I have 5 mojos and I really like them. I pair them all up with revo toros and lexa reels. Throw everything from double 10's and mag dawgs down to the smallest Bucktails and lately a lot of umbrella rigs with my 8' MH. Yea they are purple, and some people hate split grips but for the money they are great rods that will throw anything on the market. That's the most important thing to me. |

| The mojo is a good quality rod for the price. Backed by a 5 year warranty. I own a couple of them and really like em. |
