There she is. Sea Ark Skimmer. 45 jet. I can get in 3 inches if im alone. 30 mph. its 84 inches wide so that helps me stay up in the water. Its a great river boat. |

Location: NE PA | here's my river boat... G3 HP180 with a 225 merc opti jet. Get right around 50mph out of her at full tilt. cruise in the mid 30s. plenty stable, and doesn't slide like most jets because of the stepped hull.

| Jim, I have a 2008 G3 1860 Center Console Tunnel Jet with an 115/80 Yamaha 4-stroke and love it ! Not one problem with the boat or motor, however there is just one problem....I JUST DON'T GET TO USE IT ENOUGH !!!!! UGH !!! |

| Big Rock, for the rivers around here I need a Jet and it doesn't handle too bad in choppy water although definately not a V-Bottom. Not sure how deep the Wisconsin river is ? The Susquehanna, Juniata and Allegheny where I fish its kinda required due to depth unless you don't mind replacing lower units and rebuilding props which I don't know anyone who does LOL. I know alot of guys in my old B.A.S.S. club who bought props then wished they had bought a jet. I learned the hard way, now I have the Jet. |

| You will loose sum H.P. to a jet that is why I get the biggest motor permissable for that boat. My belief is there is only one thing better than power and that is more power. If you are in shallow water believe me you want a jet. I replaced a lower unit on a Honda and had numerous propellers rebuilt till I saw the light and got a jet. Sure you will suck up some gravel from time to time. My impeller is a plastic material and I have not had to replace it yet, its a wear and tear item and when I finally do its going to be a stainless steel impeller. Trust me if you are fishing and or boating in shallow water don't waste your money doing it twice get a jet to start you will be happy you did. I learned the hard way on that one. A tunnel jet will get you even shallower and less likely to inhale gravel, sand not as rough on impellers as rock. I'm so happy with my G3, been in 3 three inches of water already.

Location: Washington, PA | Generally speaking, you shouldn't put much sand through an impeller. As long as you are on plane and keep the throttle down, you will only suck up water for the most part. That being said, after a few encounters with VERY shallow sand bars (like sticking out of the water shallow), I am still running the same impeller and haven't noticed any difference.
Generally the sleeve will go first, and both the sleeve and impeller will need replaced every few years. |
