I was wondering if anyone knew if there is a way to ship 8' rods internationally with reasonable prices?

I've ordered a bunch of rods from tackle industries up to 9'. Unfortunately, shipping is terrible from the US to Canada. If possible, try and find someone who is coming up here and they can throw them in their car. Otherwise...buy a few at a time to bring shipping per rod cost down!!

FedEx. Best idea I have for you is to get a few buddies in with you. 1 rod vs 7 is not that much difference in price to Canada OR Europe. Canada is between $80-$110 depending if you collect for duties (and if you don't and the customer refuses to pay, you pay anyway). To Europe, its about $200-$250. I use a 5" diameter PVC pipe to ship 7 rods to my retailers over in Europe and it works well. Cheaper ways to ship too. Canada, freight if you have more than 4 rods. Europe by cargo ship and its cheaper but add complexity for importing. Hope this helps.

If you can get a couple buddies to get rods also and make it worthwhile.

You can always ship them to one of theose pickup/drop box companies just over the border. Its only a couple bucks, you can drive over and grab them and be home in a couple hrs. Or make a weekend out of it and don't pay the taxes.

Good idea! I have a lot of guys in Canada do this. OR at the musky clubs up in Canada they do this in bulk and make a club order and freight the rods to Canada. 20 rods is about $175 total so not even $10 a rod shipping. That is cheaper than USA shipping per rod with FedEx ($15-$20).
