| Is anyone using spiderline fusion. It looks very round and smooth for a superline. I am currently trolling with Power Pro (50 lb) but like the looks of this spiderline fusion. How is it for knot strength, durability, etc? thanks for any input -lobi |

Location: oswego, il | Absolutely not. The mono coating comes right off during the first use. You will be cutting off alot of line. Don't even think about trolling it. Any abrasion whatsoever will take it right off. Have first hand experience with it.
If it stayed together it would be the perfect musky line. Fins makes a line like this, they claim it's different than the fusion but I have not seen it yet. |

To simplify things there are 2 catagories to put the superbraids into;
4 yarns and 8 yarns. Power Pro is a 4 yarn braid. Spider, Whiplash(disc),spectron are 8.
I just spooled up with some 50# Stealth on one of my downsize rigs. I don't see a big difference between it and whiplash other than a little waxier feel.
Very few things in todays market live up to the marketing hype. But hey, that's life. Give this one a season of testing and I'm sure you will get some good, honest opinions................................RAZE

| I have only used it in 10lb test for smallmouth fishing and it has been excellent. The colour comes off at the end but doesn't seem to effect strength. In heavier lb test I can't say. What about the new stealth product? |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I guess I will put in an opposing view. I use Fusion quite a bit with my 6.6' rod. It has a carbaloy tip top, and the line lasts very well. I do watch the coating for damage, and usually have to retie one time over a long day on the water. It also works well on a spinning reel, if you keep the line diameter selection to the reel's design capacity. Is it 'better' than the braid? No. It is a less expensive alternative. Is it easier to use for a rookie? Absolutely. Good 'guide outfit' line for an inexperienced angler. It is MUCH easier to get straightened out after a serious backlash. |

Location: Sheboygan Falls, WI | I tried it last year in Canada, it ended up in the shorelunch fire on the first day. It starts to unravel at the tip almost immediately, and if you don't cut and retie you will have a bump going thru the top guide. |

Location: On my favorite lake! | I tried all the Spiderlines and fireline. I do not like them for muskie they have too much memory! They are fine if you use 10 or 12 lb. diameter for small fish but the bigger you go the worse they get. |

Location: Warroad, Mn | I've had several clients use the fusion lines (both fusion and firewire), almost every one was loosing lures or even worse fish, by the end of the second day. The coating comes off and the line comes unravled and frays. I would not use it for casting or trolling.
