| I bought a 2006 90HP Evinrude E-TEC this past summer. For the most part it has ran great. However on four occasions, the No Oil light alarm came on. In each event, I shut down and restarted(as I knew oil was in it and yes I am using XD100 oil). The indicator light stayed off and everything was fine again. Does seem like cold weather was a factor as I had no alarms during the summer. I have researched this and what I have found was that it may need one or both of the following:
1. Software upgrade
2. New revision oil pump
Anyone have any experience with this as to what is really needed to fix the problem? As I'd hate to pay for a new oil pump if it does not truly need one.
