The water temperatures have been on a steady decline for the past month and the patterns have been changing throughout the day. Fishing has been steady but knowing where to fish based on a variety of changing conditions has made on the water analysis very important. Trolling, open water casting, weedline casting, as well as banging bank has all produced fish in the past 2.5 weeks. A few fish have came on twitchbaits such as shallow raiders and 10" Jakes but the majority of the fish and the 2 biggest have came on Tandem Nutbusters. Some of the biggest fish of the year are being caught right now. Below is a 48" from 11/9/13 and a 49" from 11/16/13.

Matt

I'm taking a few days off work next week and plan to fish Sunday through Tuesday....as long as the weather isn't too nuts.

Planning to bring my 13" Grandmas, 14" Jakes, Plows and $50 Hookers.

Opening weekend of shotgun season, so also wearing my bright orange coat.

Fishing with Bad Grandpa (Jim B) on Sunday.

See you on the water.

Trip was a blast Matt, Thanks for posting report. I was a bit disapointed I didn't get to fish on Veterans day with Dad like we always do. But I've fished Kinkaid for a number of years and I tell ya what....this has been the best fall for size. It was a tough bite, but when we did hook up HOLD ON cause it was a big-un! Glad we could put my Dad on a Illinois fish of a lifetime. The funniest part about him catching that fish was half way through the day he asked us if he should try throwing another lure. Matt and I both looked back and at the same time said heck no! Sure enough the big girl wanted the Tandem haha.
