Purchasing a rig with a 2011 250 Verado and need to install kicker. Is a second cranking battery needed if I have an isolator kit installed. Any info/help would be appreciated!! Thanks!!

If you wan to use the Verado power steering when running your kicker you should have a second battery and isolator kit (897478k01). Normally a deep cycle is used for the second battery.

I have a 2011 620 with a 250 Verado, and a 9.9 Pro Kicker.

I currently only have one battery to operate the two, but like the guy said above, if you want to use the power steering you should have two batteries. If you plan on controlling both of them from the wheel you will want to use the power steering, its just about impossible to steer without. I found myself leaving both motors run for short periods of time while trolling just to keep it charged. I will be adding a another battery if I plan on doing any more long stints of trolling in the future.

So I echo what the guy said above with first hand experience.
