I'm going to buy a 4 stroke kicker soon, (like this week).
i found a 15 HP Merc that already has the BigFoot option on it...basically the gears and bunch other parts from lower end of 25 HP...
noneless, do you recommend the Bigfoot option? any problems w/ it?
thanks a ton.

The Bigfoot is designed to be tougher, and deliver lots of low end torque. I had a 15 hp Bigfoot; it was a great motor!

Thanks steve. It seems like this like a $500 upgrade, hey?
Do, does the big foot actually help you go faster or just to be able to move heavy loads easier? more advise please, anyone????

Actually, the Bigfoot is a model, not an upgrade. It has a much more durable lower unit, and was designed as the ultimate Pontoon motor. It will treat you well.

It's also the model that comes with electric start. It is also geared lower. With the larger case, this allows a larger diameter prop for more power to move those big pontoonies. The do work well on larger boats for a kicker.
