I'm fairly new to musky fishing and cant seem to find a happy medium between the rods and reels I have. I mainly fish smaller bucktails (some dbl 10's), phantom softtails, bull dawgs (magnum and smaller sizes), and every now and then a crankbait of some sort.

How would you pair these up?

Rods:

8' Fenwick Elite Tech Big Bait Heavy (2-8oz)
8' TI XH rod (4-12oz)
7'6" St Croix mojo musky (2-6oz)
9' TI MH (1-4oz) ** (I plan on buying this rod, or the XH version)

Reels:

Abu Revo Toro Winch 4.7
Abu Garica 6500c3
x2 Shimano Cardiff 400a

Any ideas???? or opinions If i should get the Mh or XH TI rod??

Thanks

I'd recommend the XH TI, not the MH. You will be very satisfied with that rod, and you can get it telescoping or 2 piece if storage and transport is an issue. That Rod will do everything you said you fish will quite well.
In terms of reels, those are all pretty similar in performance in terms of line pick up and having relatively low gear ratios, so I'd have to say just em all on your favorite rod and go from there, see which you like best.
If I had to imagine, the C3 would probably be the most versatile, being the fastest of those three, ok gear ratio for bucktails, probably ok speed for dawgs

Id also recommend the 9'XH and would get the winch upgraded to 5.4:1 gears would be my first choice for a nice setup.I have all Revo Toros in all speeds, and the winch was just to slow for my needs. Now my winch which was barely being used has 5.4;1 gears and I put a Nacl handle on it and its my favorite reel out of my Revo Toros. This would be a very versatile combo for a wide variety of baits, and once you start throwing that 9' rod its hard going back to the shorter rods, even for jerks and gliders.

I have a 9' mh ti and it does not toss small baits such as 6" jakes likes I thought it would for some reason. I will give it another try in the spring. I prefer the ti xh.

I'd pair a 9' TI XH with the Toro Winch for rubber and big blades.
I'd throw the 6500 on the Fenwick and use that for smaller blades/cranks.
The Cardiffs on the other rods as backups.

Just my 2 cents.
