Does anyone save the suckers that die and freeze them for tipups for icefishing.

I guess i should rephrase my question. I forgot Wisconsin and Minnesota have closed seasons. What about some of you other guys that dont have a closed season. Do you keep dead suckers and freeze them for ice fishing. (Tip ups)
Thanks

I always save a few for a buddy who freezes them and then uses them for cut bait for catfish. He swears the suckers work better than anything else he tries.

I heard dead bait might be good for big pike during ice fishing and early spring. Not great in Illinois and I might keep it for fresh cut for catfish.

I always wanted to freeze a big one and make a mold from it for soft rubber lures. Don't know how good it would work but after a few drinks it sounded like a good idea.

I've also thought about trying them for cut bait.
