After a few weeks of not having any muskie anglers around the lake, we got a couple groups of trollers in to get the fall truly underway.

Water temps are starting out around the mid-50s and will be coming down with the forecasts for 30s over the next week of nights or so.

Fish typically start off tighter to structure during the early portion of trolling season before evening out some to inside/outside rod stuff with them hanging off a little deeper later on.

Excited to get my two new hummibirds with side imaging in play to try and spot baitfish patterns that would otherwise take lots of passes to find with regular sonar.

I will be out here and there this week and hope to fish more then work the following 2-3 weeks.

If the size and numbers of fish from this summer carry over even partially to the fall, those of us out there pounding baits into the bottom could have a memorable late season.

Good luck and let us know how you're doing..what is working and what the conditions are where you're at on the water.

Few boats trolling..reports have been a bit of a slow bite to start. I would say not unexpected with water temps from 52-56ish depending where you are.

Hard frost the night Oct 15/morning of Oct 16. Temps looking to cool off significantly next week starting Monday night if forecasts holds.

It's only gonna get better.

Hope to fish more than work from here on!

Water temps been anywhere from 50-54 the last couple days. Action still slow going for most..except one boat slamming big pike like mad with 17 and 13 on two different days this week..5 over 40".

About 2-3 muskies per day is the best any boat has reported so far.

Biggest that I'm aware of is a 48".

Best is yet to come. Cooler temps coming next week.

Water temps starting to dip below 50 in some areas with a couple cold nights and some snow last night. Action has been picking up a little with 4, 5, 6 and 7 fish days being reported by some anglers.

The first reported/confirmed monster of the fall is in the books. Check out the facebook page for details and photos.

Grandmas and Giant Flatsticks have been picking up some strikes to start. Perch type patterns have been a good colour. A couple 46 inchers jigged up over some deep water on a Bondy bait as well. Another tool in the box for those of you that like to try a little of everything.

Cold temps coming. Hopefully a slow steady decline will be the result.

Good luck all.
