Location: Minnetonka | I'm planning to be on Leech Lake on the 18th-20th of Oct. With the very cool weather forecast in the week prior (40s in the day, 30s at night), I am afraid that our trip will coincide with the turnover in Walker Bay, where we planned to spend most of our time. I am familiar with the lake, but not at this time of year. Anyone have any recommendations? Are they still shallow on the rocks this time of year or do they move to adjacent, deeper water with the cold weather the week before. Any advice on location, presentation, etc. would be helpful. I've never fished during turnover. |

Location: Walker, MN | Leech is like ten lakes in one. The big lake will probably turn over before walker bay so you will have some options. Fish can be caught all over the lake. Good luck!

| The main lake doesn't stratify. |

Location: Walker, MN | You are right, in part. The area around Paris Trench definitely has semi permanent Epilimnon and Hypolimnon layers in summer.
Kabekona bay and Shingobee bay do stratify so he may have some options even if Walker bay is in turmoil. |
