Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | Double 10s clearly rule the day, and big rubber seems right behind. But are there techniques people are just forgetting in thinking that blades and rubber are THE end all?
Seems like in our excitement over the above and the occassional sexy glider that just has to be thrown, doesnt seem like many are talking about cranks, twitchbaits, up and down jerks.
Or is it just me? |

Location: Contrarian Island | i agree travis, new guys to the sport seem to think a double 10 is the only bait to throw...i've seen many days / trips where baits other than dawgs/bucktails got the hit during tough days/conditions... Triple D is one that comes to mind that put nice fish in the boat when other baits were ignored
being 1 dimensional costs some guys fish....

Location: Northwest Chicago suburbs | Bobbie ,as it has a larger profile than the Suick. A shallow Invader as it can be worked slowly this time of year and still get the added attraction from the rubber tail.
I will be fishing clear water this week with Cisco forage, and will bring out a silver Kong and try a Silver Bondy.

Location: Milwaukee, WI | suiks and grandmas are my "traditional" bait favs... but there is one end all that makes a musky bait popular... the fact that it repeatedly produces fish. the new big rubbers and the big twin blade in lines just happen to be the newest of the addition to the family of top producers, so they are trendy. I am sure that they will some day be talked about the same way we are talking about our favorite "old" classics. |

| I've caught and seen more fish with the L&L Exciter than any other bait over the years. My cousin designed it when he was in high school. Black with a red nose was deadly on LOTW. You can only find the excited through mailorder now, and from my understanding it doesn't match up with the old ones. I've hooked into fish the last couple years on one that's been painted over and over by me since i was about 13. It doesn't work well unless its had 5 or so casts to soak up some water. I used to soak it in the livewell all day! |

Never caught one on a cisco kid but it still got thrown/trolled my last time out. Daredevil also in the never category for muskies but it STILL catches pike. Cant figure that one out either. |
