Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I will be adding clues until someone finds the prize. The sentences containing the verbage that will win the prizes for you will be hidden on the MuskieFIRST board, SOMEWHERE...When you think you have found the 'prize', post it to the board!! FIRST one with the correct identifying post wins all.
Prizes include a Frabill Powercatch Muskie Net, and Ambassadeur 5000c Vantage Plus, and a Muskie Plaque by Worralls Woodworking (worrallswoodworking.com).
Post your feeble guesses here. I must warn you, I am tough but VERY concise with the clues. If you think Slamr is tough...
You must register to win, as it is too easy to immitate an anonymous post.
Good LUCK!!

Love the clue, Steve. But can we ask questions about this deal? Like, what do you mean, "hidden in a post"? |
|

|
| Good point Ranger, if I am correct, there are at least 250 pages...at what page forward are the potential answers? I know for a fact that there are a lot fewer smart women than there seem to be, and I'll show me wife what I wrote as soon as she gets home! Well maybe....:O |

Clue Number 3) Now you know I am not in a tree. I am not alone, I am bunched up in 2. 1 is not 3. The wood is not holding the clue to find me.
Sure, ask questions, if you want to confuse the issue by having me answer in riddles..
Good luck. Post your guesses here, if you are going the right direction, I will let you know! |

Clue Number 6) We are two in one, seperated by two. One makes up the other. The woods will not be found there. If you find what is not there, you will not win the day.
This is a scavenger HUNT. You must put all the clues together, gaining answers from each one accumulating toward the goal of locating the Prize.
Clue Number 7) 11 of 25 is the beginning of the end.

| A POST is under a mailbox |
|
| |
|
| Depends...whether the box is located in a residential/rural area, or if the box is located on a porch, next to the door! Most often there is a POST under the mailbox, which is sunk in the ground; if I remember correctly, the box should be a height of between 36"-42". If the # 2 is more important, then how abouts Surf City(Jan&Dean), where there is 2 girls for every boy?

| Ok dudes/dudettes, I don't care if i win, but we must solve this thing, as he is having too much fun watching us struggle!!! So far:
-the more there are, the less there are...
-found under a mailbox(Post)
-bunched up in 2, the wood is not holding the clue to find me
-said Esoxjunkie was correct; not sure what he meant by that, read Jamies post on the first page
-is not there w/ the others
-2 in 1, separated by 2, 1 makes up the other, woods won't be found there
-said Krappie was a teeny bit warm...
-a POST under the mailbox...
*I think off the top of me head, someone who thinks from w/in take this and RUN!:O |

You also have a bunch of clues as to what it is I am referring to in that hidden post. Clue Number 8) The wood is working in a post as well, it was made from a tree that ultimately fell, is called by it's name, it's position you will find, in a post where the thinkers are, this will help you go find the 2 that will win, as finding this one will not. Now quit trying to make this complicated, and give it a shot!! Note to Krappie: Re register with a shorter password, that should do it. 6 to 8 characters should correct the probelm. And you still are a bit warm... |

Extra Clue: Krappie was warm, Sponge was too, Shep found one prize, where are the two?? Under a mailbox, out in the weather, in a timeframe from the Byrds, one, two, three or the other. If I got any easier, the prize would be found, by anyone out there with the sense of a hound!!! Shep, what was that? Byrd in the hand, that's funny. If this is won in the next week, we will do another much much tougher one that will be modeled after this event. Will be easier to follow, harder to figure out. |

Commanche Jim,
Please e-mail me your choice of an item off our site with your home address so I can get it out to you. I'm in college right now and I'm pretty busy so the sooner you get me the info the better.
I especially liked the pick of Craig Eversoll submitted by Donnie. I'm working on a new muskie design that I should have done soon. When I'm finished I'll put a picture of it on the site and send out one for each of you.
Congrats from Worralls Woodworking
Brian
I had found a post that Sir Spong has alluded to. I've looked at a couple times and said what the heck I got nothing to lose. What stands out is the "Hint, more than one in the title." It may not mean much, but I tell you what you can kill two birds with one stone on this one.
What's really crazy is that a guy can start making sense out of things that may not even pretain. such as if you thake the 2003 add the two digits you have 25 and you add 01-31 you have two 11's .LOL and have Commache Jim reply to it with post #58059 when the original post is #7125. Things don't add up. Not only that but if you look hard every post that Commache Jim places has the #112 on this thread. Whatever is the case I might be just losing my head like everyone else, but it's fun trying to crack this egg.
catch ya later,

Throw logic and common sense out the door. My Bootail guess was based on three factors. 1 Dave Darazio started guiding in the mid 60's 2. His Bootails are made with Bird feathers. 3. the spinner turns.

| OK Stever I have been quiet on the board so far regarding this. I however have been driving my wife, family and coworkers nuts with this. It's the last thing I think about when I go to bed and the first thing I think of in the morning. Here goes.
Random thoughts or things I have noted.
"the more there are the less there are"...Birthdays?
"I am bunched up in 2. 1 is not 3."... Worralls Woodworking Plaque
rr's ll's and oo's are bunched up in twos
rr's and ll's are separated by one letter ll's and oo's are separated by 2 letters and there aren't any double letters are separated by 3.
2 w's in woodworking are however separated by 3 letters (one is not 3)
"11 of 25 is the beginning of the end"
last syllable of Woodworking "king" starts with K the 11th letter
"Wood is not holding the clue to find me"
Worrall's Woodworking Plaque contains 25 letters if you remove "wood" from it you get Worrall's Working Plaque. Is Brian Working on a Plaque???
More Random thoughts:
"11 of 25 is the beginning of the end"
Mike Koepp - K is the beginning of his last name
"the prize will be found by anyone with the sense of a hound"
sense of a hound?? How about scents of a hound? A hound smells his prey.
Even more Random thoughts:
Is there a post about Mike Koepps birthday?
Is there a post about Worralls birthday?
Is there a post about Worrall working? (Worrall's Woodoworking - Wood = Worralls Working)
Does it have something to do with a hunting location. I noted there were some words capitalized in several posts by Worrall. "HUNT" and "LOCATION".
Is there something relating to Donnie Hunt and/or his location. There was also a play on the word "shot". "Go ahead and give it a shot."
Son of a Bitch Worrall, now you really got me going. I gotta give it a rest before I start to confuse myself.

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Worrall's Woodworking Plaque has been found. Shep found it. The reference to it was one of the three. What are the other two? Clue 11) Finding the plaque didn't win the prize, no shock to that, you two. Two of you are warm, one is near HOT. Talk clues from the song, if you listen (or not). What are you doing, look for the PRIZE, don't focus on anything else, and don't act surprised; so easy it is to find the hidden stuff, but the site search will not, as the words are messed up! So spell the two all you wish, all you want, it won't go. The spelling has been messed with, altered, you know. The LOCATION of the two is what you so aptly seek, using the clues as your tools, the letter K, spieg's very recent near freak; ask ole Shep he used these tools, he found one of the three, he is BRILLIANT, he RULES! Clue 12) The plaque has been found. All clues referring to wood were for that item. This was designed to indicate how the two were hidden, and what the two were. You know the post clue was solved, the two are hidden in a post on a MuskieFIRST board. You know the letter K ( 11 of 25, the last being asleep,( zzzzz), 26 letters, alphabet) is important. You also should know that items needed to catch a Muskie, ADDED to the two, will give you another critical clue to the location. Spieg also hit a homer, and I even said so, sorta. He is warm, VERY warm. Who is missing????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? By the way, I never said the ITEMS started with the letter K, I said the letter K was important. |

I can fish weekdays until the shows start, so if a weekday works, we can Frabill it out there for an afternoon and evening. My son gave me a tip on a lake everyone drives past with very nice crappies and BIG 'eyes. One of his associates at work took a 13 out of there last winter. Definitely worth a try.[:0]

ROB!!! WANNA GO ICEFISHING ON A SPECIAL WALLEYE LAKE??
Still very cold, but moderating next week to a Pacific jetstream, maybe our warm spell will be too late.[:blackeye:]
I have the desired schedule for the weather.
Warm during the week of Thanksgiving, in the 40's for the daytime.
Snow the last afternoon and night of rifle, about 2 inches.
Cool, say 30's for highs, during the black powder season.
Melt the snow, then get cold second week December, freeze the lakes up real good, then snow enough for the sled heads before the holidays, but not so much it stresses the remaining deer herd or makes ice fishing tough.
Winter ends in March, lakes thaw by April 1, boats sell like mad.[]
This post talks of the seasons and what does a tipup do but turn, turn, turn. Frabil was discussed in the thread and the word lake has a K in it. Plus, Boats sell like mad is also showing up again.
catch ya later,
Krappie
P.S. The only problem is that these posts don't say: "hey take this post and paste it on the Scavenger Hunt Thread. You won ya da, ya da..... I'm guessing it's still not a winner.

I never have a problem knowing when I have been out a lot. My wife takes a picture of me in the spring to look at once in a while. Props it up on my pillow at night to say good night to. She then gets to compare this to the real thing sometime after Deer season closes.

Food for thought- My uncle is still fishing with a 1970s Ambassedeur 5000, with magnetic cast control on a 70's something Fenwick musky rod. It has a steel reel seat, that was not custom. Nothing wrong with either of the two. My point is do you want to catch musky, or catch the new fashionable trend in fishing!
I fear I am drifting farther from the answer... |

Sunday clue numbr two)
Fish.
Not a muskie. Fish. As in noun. Yup. OK, then. March 1st in Wisconsin?? No more game?? The two ARE the the 18-5-5-12-14-5-20. find them in one post, sure, just DO that, OK?? Bobber. Find a Bobber to get warm. Bobber. Some bobbers are made of sponge. DO NOT confuse the sponge bobber with Sponge Bob. They are not the same.
Note from reality:
This is really fun. Find this one so I can design one that is actually difficult. |

I can move a Krap load of fish on gliders during the spring with a couple takers, but the good ole Mepps and Rizzo Tails seem to really shine. I'm going to try incorporating some plastics this coming spring. It's happened way too often that we have heard of walleye guys getting into skies during the early opener on leeches and minnows. A reaper and sassy shad style minnow baits no doubt will catch a few slimers.I think the rubber stuff like on the n-et always shines during cold water temps and really come on their own in the spring and fall. I need to start focusing more on using them instead of the baits that I'm most familar with. The folks that make the cobra head also have a new jighead style out that I'm pretty excited about. I was able to get some pretty good pointers at the Chicago show from a couple of guys and I'm pretty fired up in trying them out with my new re-el. catch ya later, Krappie

| OK, I'm feeling realy stupid right now. Here I thought I was looking for something similar to "the reel and the net post this to the thread" like the plaque answer was.
And what the hell were all those misspelled/altered words in the other posts pointing to. I must've found 10 or so of them.
HeHeHe, maybe this is the reason I don't catch as many ski's as I want. Just don't have a clue.

| Congrats, Krappie. I wish I would have had the weekend to work on it, as I may have figured it out. Although, I knew Krappie was key, I spent my Friday afternoon at work looking for spring(or summer, fall, or winter), reel, net, and Crappie with a "C". Figured Steve was throwing a curve at us. The suggestion that I was the MAN led me to an old thread of mine, where all clues are mentioned, with 2 posts were separated by one.
Aw well, I'll bet the next one shall be a real doozy! |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I hid the words in Krappie's post about Favorite Spring Baits. All clues referred to the location, Krappie, the reel and net and the fact I had altered the spelling by seperating the letters by ONE dash, the worrallswoodworking plaque, the season referred to Spring, the what do you need to catch a ski the reel, the net and the Bait part of the equasion, K was for Krappie, Specie was for Krappie, March in Wisconsin is Panfish only, again Krappie, 11 of 25 and then 26 was easy, the letter K, code was for the reel and net, and the rest Krappie and Shep explain. I altered the spelling so no one could find the prizes using a simple search of the database. Congratulations to Krappie. There were quite a few others who were very close to the prize. Do you want to have another one, just a bit more difficult? |

Location: Appleton, WI | Esox Junkie, I hate to say it but I feel bad winning since it was really a collective amount of brainstorming that took place to figure out the riddle. It was your clue that the letter K was a part of the clue and utlimately helped in determining the answers to the clues. You also contributed to knowing the answer to the lyric reference of the Byrds song "Turn, Turn,Turn" . That pinpointed to the "time of the season.".No doubt it was a collective effort and I have to give credit to all of you.
Hey Steve is it possible to have Esox Junkie share the day at Worrall's Hideout with me since he did figure out a good number of the clues and shared them? If not, I'd be willing to give him the oppurtunity to fish with you because of his contribution...even though I'd love to fish with you for a day(need for you to show me the ropes with the creatures).

| Wow, apparently I was off on a completely unrelated tangent somewhere then.
I found several headers in posts with misspelled words. Looked through the post itself and found more misspelled words. Thought somehow that by using the missing or added letters it would reveal some kind of code.
"Diamnodback" instead of Diamondback
"Triva" instead of Trivia
"Trillion" instead of Trillium
"Fore" instead of For
"WIsdom" with the WI capitalized
"apint" instead of Paint
"Majic" instead of Magic
"Glidder" instead of Glider
How far off was I with that Steve? Please tell me that they somehow, somewhere pointed to something relative to this contest.
"Stupid is as Stupid does."
God, I have nothing to look forward to in life.

Then I can't even get somebody to tell me the actual answer to the first clue!! What is the answer to: "Today, the more there are, the less there are......"??????
PS.Actually, all I need to do to get up to Worrall's Hideout is buy another new boat with a skunk in it, and let him play Skunkeraser this time!! |

I don't recall you mentioning anything about what you had figured out on the Scavenger Hunt last Saturday. If you did, I would assume it would be a fatal error on your part since you now I was trying to figure it out also. But something tells me you wanted to figure it out as badly as the next guy and that information wouldn't be divulged. If you had it pegged, something tells me you would have made an effort to find the winning post and post it.
I hadn't posted it until late Sunday afternoon(despite the post saying it's the 15th...appears the time stamp is incorrect on all the posts on the message board).
Steve, since I feel bad that I had posted the winning post with the help of everyone on this site. I don't feel it's my right to accept the prizes given during this scavenger hunt. Please take the prizes and donate them for the Ashton Fund under the riddle solver's of this fun thread.

| Krappie,
Hope you realize my last posts were all in fun. Just kidding you a little bit. I was getting close, but I don't know if I would have gotten there before you, even if I had been home to work on it. Personally, I think you should keep the wiinings, at least those you can use. Noble gesture to donate to Ashton, also. I say keep what you can use! |

| Way to go Krappie...you seemed to be on top of many of the clues and I thought it was cool you thanked the team on this one.
