Does anyone have any suggestions for where to spend a three day weekend in north central Minnesota. My son and I live in Brainerd and are looking for a few day trips to chase down our first Minnesota musky. We practice strict CPR and have a 16ft alumacraft with a 30 hp motor. I was thinking Leech, Mill Lacs, or Vermillon unless the weather gets tough then maybe some smaller lakes like Mantrap, Plantagenet, or Bemidji. Anyone have any suggestions? Dragging suckers and pitching bulldogs and jerk baits was my plan but I was wondering if we should be targeting weeds, rocks, drop offs. Daytime temps should be in the 50-60 degree range. Should I be looking shallow or deep? Is it too early for the Cisco spawn? Any ideas are appreciated.

Come on up to Spring Bay on Vermilion with us this coming weekend. Sounds like the bite has been pretty good from my recent PMs, the hospitality will be spectacular, the food great, the price really great, and the fun-O-meter will be off the charts.

I'll be out Monday and Wednesday of this week on Leech. I'll send you a pm if the fish are moving. I usually have two open seats for a half-day and then you could go from there.
