| Anyone know of any good rock guard protectors that are less than $500? |

Location: Kodiak, AK | If you're talking about for your truck, protecting your boat, I made my own for like $150. Decide if you want the whisker kind or the mudflap kind. I went with the whisker style on the advice a couple RV friends. I guess the buzz around the RV shows and meetings is that the whisker style is better at absorbing the rocks and dropping them, whereas the mudflap type can bounce them around and not actually stop the rock.
I made mine with enough "whisker" to make it a double row of it, a piece of perforated angle, a U-bolt and a handful of 1/4-20 hardware. Made it all the way from MI back up to Kodiak with no issues and I think it did a great job. |

Location: Kodiak, AK | In that case, yeah, I saw one in use a bunch in Canada. It mounted to the front of the trailer and was made of a heavy mesh. I've got a picture of one somewhere I'll see if I can find. Looked pretty slick, but can't remember the brand name. |

Location: Kodiak, AK | Looks like a nylon boat cover for your bow. In theory, it'd probably stop rocks. But like a cover for your cap I think it may buffet in the wind and possibly scratch your boat. If it's heavy enough material, it should last and not get shredded. |
