Hi guys,
I broke my loomis steel-15 rod last week when I accidently stepped on it...
I really, really loved this rod for fishing for big pike with bucktails, swimbaits, crankbaits, etc... Since they don't sell these blanks anymore I'm looking for a new blank!
Does anyone out there have any recommondations of what blank (or finished rod) could replace my baby? I know most people here fish for muskie and use very heavy rods for very heavy baits but that is not whatI'm looking for...
I liked the fact that the steel-15 blank was quite forgiving, very sensitive (I could feel even the smallest blades turn!) and light and when putting pressure on it, it was rather moderate (or parabolic as we say here)
I would even like the replacement blank to be a little bit lighter if possible...
I Will use it for fishing smaller bucktails like double showgirls, mepps musky killers,... Also crankbaits like Grandma 7", and yet is has to have enough power to cast regular bulldawgs! I really don't want it to be a stiff, heavy musky rod!
I sincerely thank you in advance for any info!
Greetings from Belgium,
Jeroen

I have access to some loomis 15 weight blanks still. My distributor still has some available. I would be willing to build you one if you would like? Please email me if you are interested. [email protected]. I have built many rods for members on musky first I can give you contacts later if you would like.

Thorne Bros might still have a few steel 15 blanks. Otherwise, the mh predator is close, just a little stiffer but a slower action.

Looking for a factory built rod I would recommend the St.Croix Legend Tournament Long Ranger

Legend tourney bass rod may be the ticket.
