Just returned from Hayward Late Weds night. It was a great trip. My Dad and Brother had to back out so I was solo, so I decided to grab a guide, Micah Langkamp, the first day to learn some new water. Caught some nice fish including my PB a heavy 43" beauty. (I had caught a 44" in the past but she was skinny). While the 43 was in the net and we were admiring her, the sucker rod clicker made that fine sound and we had another on. Had no time to remove the hooks from the 43 so we netted the second fish. Now the frabill held the 43 and a 36! Very cool, but didn't get a pic, which I am so bummed about. Also lost a few bigger fish on suckers were the hooks didn't take, and a brute that was on my spinnerbait and doubled my rod over on a hard run, but was off after a short battle. Wish I had a treble hook in that one. Did catch a 40.5,39.5,39,38,36,36,34,32,32,31 and a 28 to go along with the 43.
Micah really put me on some fish and gave me the heads up on some lakes, so it was a great investment! Now, its back to the real world, but...the memories are still sweet!!

Yes,the cat is out of the bag! Micah was great to fish with. I should of given him props in my original post. I have a PM asking about it and was just coming to add it to my entry. Great time on the water, great action, knowledge and a had a few laughs as well. So, THANKS Micah for a great outing!

Yeah Dave, I wish we'd have gotten a pic of your big one.

I had 2 holes in my net that I was completely unaware of until his personal best found one and released herself. That was the first time this year with 2 fish in the net and both of them were still pretty green. To say the least, I fixed the net the moment I got home.

Also, Dave gave me a little more credit than what is due. He probably caught more than half of those fish out of his own boat fishing by himself. So cheers to you Dave for sticking some really nice fish on your trip up!

Well "Thank You, Sir!!" But the 43 and the three chances at a brute were while you were guiding me, so I believe you did your part.
Thanks again, Micah.
Oh, and my Dad can't believe the action he missed!!

I'm pretty sure that bigger fish you had on the bar off the island was 46 1/4". I was next to a guy on that spot who stuck one that size in the tournament. I was a little frustrated to say the least. But good for him!
