| I have quite a few bucktails, cranks, and topwaters but my jerkbait collection is on the small side. I need to add a few more. Which jerkbaits do you feel are "essential" in small rivers.
Right now I have this. Is there anything I should have that I don't?
1) regular bulldawg (2)
2) suick thriller unweighted 9" & 7"
3) 8" unweighted reefhawg
4) TI sea calf
5) hellhounds (2)
6) phantom softail
7) cobb w/ softail

| I don't think you are missing anything that is essential. I like Hot Tail gliders in the fall because they can be worked at many speeds and have a great wobble on the pause.
How small are the rivers? How fast is the current? How deep? Boat or shore?
The answers to the above might help you narrow down your baits. One place I fish quite a bit in the fall doesn't really work with reg dawgs and pounders would be useless.

| I second the squirkos, very versatile bait. |

| Hang 10 mantas are killer in river systems. Sandcats are killer also. |

| Ski bowls- deepest water is about 10-12ft. I fish out of a 2 man bass hunter John boat.
I get hung up a bit with regular dawgs...but I did catch a 35" on one Friday afternoon so I think maybe I need to switch to shallow dawgs? Not much current. It's long pools of slack water.
Guest- I bought the TI sea calf because it looks identical to the hang 10 manta. Are the actions the same? |

hang 10 manta's and sea cow's are two very different animals. the action are very different. hang 10's have a much longer glide the longest glide of any glider out there. the cow's have a good walk the dog. both will catch fish but only similar in looks. |

Location: Northern Indiana | I would add a weighted Big Daddy. Also, there is something special about a weighted Reef Hawg when times are tough.

Location: River | I would add a Hottail Glider. The wobble this lure has on the pause cant be beat. |
