I think I am like most anglers in that it is hard to find a good way to store tackle. The area of fishing that has been the hardest for myself is when I am either going on someone else's boat, or when I fish from shore on some of my small rivers (which I do a lot of, even though I own a boat).

I did the back pack for a while with Plano boxes, it was ok for going on another boat but was kind of cumbersome from shore. So recently I went ahead and built my own travel tackle box.

Generally I carry less than 10 baits, because like most musky guys I will use only maybe half dozen baits in a day. I also wanted a place to carry my own release tools, I still bring with when I go on others boats to always nice to have back up tools.

But this is my final result, for me its not to big, not to small carries the stuff I need. Throw it over my should and go, and everything is pretty easy to get to. I admit it isn't "perfect" but for what I do its the best way to carry tackle I have found.

Who knows this post may spark an idea with some of you to go out and build their own better mouse trap.

Just thought I would share something I am proud of.

Nice bag, but I really like the looks of that soft tail raptor. When will those be available?

That is really nice, and I like how durable it looks! Here is what I use for extra storage or when I am fishing in someone elses boat for the day. I keep a few 3700 size plano's open and throw what i need for the day in them and head out. For $15 it was tough to pass up. It will hold 6 3700's or 2 of the extra deep 3700's along with a couple of the regular thickness ones.

Jasond, I use to have a bag similar to that one. It worked great for going in others boats, it killed me bank fishing due to how you carry it. Also I have grown to hate plano boxes while fishing from foot, taking them out to be able to open and grab a bait, baits not fitting the same and smashing the lid closed, the main reason I went and built my own. I hate fighting with stuff, but not everyone bank fishes as hard as I do.

Ya and for what cabelas sells those for it is very hard to pass up, and I will say it again they work great for going boat to boat.
