| Going up to Mantrap late October/First of November. I have never been on the lake only what I have heard and read about online. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I know trolling would probably be best at that time of year but I know very little to none about trolling. Have done o.k. casting in Canada and southern Iowa. MN clear cold late year water has me worried. Hoping for a good trip any help would be great.

Location: MN | It's 1500 acres, and very clear water. And a variety of stuff to fish. When they don't want to play you stand a better chance of finding a pattern in your bathtub rocket surgeon  |

Location: MN | When I fish Mantrap that late in the year will drop a sucker ( big one ) over board and take a nap after I have been trolling and casting.

| Leaving this Friday for 5 days has anyone heard of any do's or don'ts. Water temps, catching or not? Or better off fishing another lake nearby? |

Location: MN | Fished Mantrap most the day Sunday. Temps 51. Saw 4 small ones (nothing over 40) early then nada rest of the day. Water is clear as a bell except in the channel just east of the no wake. These fish were deep and lazy. But it's beautiful out there now. Dock was still in but could be out by now or any day. Location: Almond, WI | Fished it today during a snowstorm, 1 deep lazy follow. 48 degree water. Dock was still in. I really don't think this lake is as clear as everyone claims either; it has kind of a blue-green tint, I'd say 8' visibility. Water temps are dropping like a rock right now and I think it's impacting the fish negatively. Might be getting good again by the time you arrive though. |

| Fishing trip was very tough. One 30"class fish caught. One low 40's lost and saw a few fish cruising low and lazy. Saw nothing I would consider "trophy" fish. Cold, water temps falling hard, lake turnover. several others hitting the lake hard, lake may be over pressured? |

| I was up there once last Sept. when I won a free stay at a resort up there. Beautiful lake and very interesting to fish but I was also surprised as to the pressure it got while we were there for the ratio of musky boats to the size of the lake. |

| Anonmymouse; depends on when in September you were there. 3M has a resort on the lake and hold a multi species tournament after labor Day typically. Lots of fancy boats then as notables that show up have last names like Linder,and Martin etc... It does get some pressure duriong the rest of the year but not that outlandish... |
