Location: Eagan, MN | Any up-sizing the hooks on these? Kind of looks like you could put bigger hooks on the first 2 hangers, and then just get rid of the back hook. |

Location: South East Wisconsin | I have not tired this yet but I was thinking about putting Gamakatsu 5/0s on mine. Stock hooks are 5/0 Mustad. |

| I am pretty picky with most hooks that come on baits , but there is no need to change the hooks on 12 inch big games . I have seen plenty of fish caught on these baits with the original hooks . Just sharpen ,possibly t them to protect the bait and you are good to go . |

I been thinking hard about what would be the best, to remove or not on 12" big games. finally decided against it, seen too many come in on the figure O and just nip at the tail of the lure. wouldn't want to miss a fish just cause he barely nipped at it and wasn't anything for him to stick to back there.
I would like to remove a hook tho, hate when the fish gets in the net and 4 points get wrapped in the net. big lure like that puts the fish in danger of getting scraped up by free trebles. |

If you're really worried about this you might want to find a new sport. |

| More points = Less power to each point
A big fishes mouth is very wide, i'd be suprised if a big fish hit and missed one of the trebles if there were only 2 |

I'd say that's a legit concern, fewer hooks makes it easier to unhook the fish, less risk of that fish getting one stuck in his eye or around the gills somewhere. seen lots of larger lures with a lot of hooks making a big tangle in the net that is a pain to get out when the fish is thrashing around and ends up getting one stuck in him or scratched up somewhere |

| As a point of reference/food for thought.
Dan Craven; part time In Fisherman Staff member and one of the more cereberal guys out there who has caught more fish than proably 95+% of the pople on this board talks of removing the rear hooks on 10 inch Jakes and like baits to ensure the fish do not get a treble in the eye... He feels it does not hurt the hooking% in the least. |

| I don't care if Albert Einstein said removing the back hook doesn't hurt hooking percentage I still wouldn't believe him. That is CRAZY talk !!!!!! |
