Wondering what anyone can tell me about this bait? How does it compare with a regular Suick? Any tips/tricks? I'm heading up to Canada in a couple weeks. Do I need one of these?

Thanks in advance.

I think that a 10" weighted Suick would be big enough ,,, thats what Doug Johnson throws (famous LOW guide),,,,,, the "Bronze Perch" color pattern has always been good to me ---- good luck ---- jimjimjim

Don't have much experience but I've used one.

For my usage at the time it went way too deep, rose too slow-- I drilled 90% of the lead out. That was for high summer use Wabigoon. With the lead drilled out ran about 2-3' under, on a pretty quick but not banging away, pull/sweep and pause rhythm.

Liked it a lot, without the weight. Use 10" unweighted often, keep meaning to pick up a 12" unweighted but never did. The drilled 12 ran kindof similar to my unweighted 10s. But way a single suick runs doesn't always mean much about how the next one runs.

I didn't experiment much with it stock, (weighted), before modding for my needs. With the lead in place, running 5'+ easy, slow rise. Barely needs any bend on the tail to get on down there. Might be great for late season. Think it got something like a full oz of lead -- might consider the unweighted with screw-in weights or bell sinkers if you're not sure you want to run it deep. Or bring a drill.

if anyone has experience with unweighted or weighted I'd like to know more

I've never hard if Doug Johnson using a 12 -- wonder if he does, doesn't, his thoughts, compared to his beloved 10 un-weighted

If you think the 10" unweighted are buoyant, wait until you try a 12". For casting it was a lot of work to keep it off the surface. I did troll a 12" weighted and caught a 38" on it. Twitching them trolling will give you a work out too!

I like a 12" weighted Suick when the weather gets cold. I like to work them slow and this one is ideal for that.
