I am looking to put a rear casting deck in my Tuffy Esox Mag. and was wondering if anyone has done this in the past. I have seen one or two that are removable but would like to know what the best materials would be for this as well as any advice or pics from someone who has done this in the past.

Thank you,

Kyle

it's been awhile since i've had my esox mag but i'm pretty sure mine was a factory rear deck. you should be able to contact fiberdome direct and ask them or pm steve worrall who should find this thread eventually. i'm sure you will find an option direct from tuffy. otherwise use marine plywood, carpet it, install the pedestal and use hinges in the back (quick-remove) and put a brack on the sides for it to rest on. the one i have on my 690, i then have a plate with a threaded hole that i tighten a carriage bolt with a nut ... carriage bolt into the plate and then tighten the nuts, works well.

good luck ... if you don't find one to buy, making one isn't bad assuming you measure correctly and compensate fit for the carpet.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate it. I was thinking that most guys were making them but a factory option would probably fit the best.

I built a larger one and have my original one if you want it. I had to move the seat do to the big tiller handle. The original has 2 seat post holes in it. It really wasn't had to build one either.

Here is the thread of the one I built a couple of years ago. I probably only have $175 in the whole thing. I love it. http://muskie.outdoorsfirst.com/board/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=77...

Cbuf, where are you located and what would you be looking to get for you old casting deck? I have a 2001 so I don't think I would need something that big seeing that I have the short tiller handle. If you have any pics of the old one that you could send I would appreciate it. You can send them to [email protected]

Elkman99, thank you for the link. I will have to look into doing it this way as well. I like the idea of being able to put speakers in it seeing that my boat does not have a radio.

Thank you,

Kyle
