Looking at a weekend trip mid October but unsure of where to go. Trying to keep the trip cheap as possible but as of now I haven't even had luck finding a resort or cabin available at that time of year.

Our idea was to fish chippewa flowage since we could spend the entire three days and never get bored versus lake jumping. Then again we kind of enjoy the variety of lake jumping but first we need to locate a place to stay.

So I ask....
Does anyone know of a year round resort/cabin with close lake access near one of those areas without breaking the bank?

Any other ideas on what lakes are good fall/sucker lakes in or aroumd vilas/oneida county?

Not hot spots obviously, just looking for ideas. Thanks!

The Pea Patch in Minitowish Waters is very affordable and has good food. Right across the street from the 10 lake chain if you don't feel like lake hopping, and plenty of other awesome lakes around if you do. Another good choice would be the Boulder Junction Motor Lodge in, you guessed it, Boulder Juction!

Sisko,s Resort on Chippewa Flowage is very reasonable. Not sure when they shut down in October but that can let you know.

Thanks for the info. The downside to having a lot of good water is the abundance of choices lol all the help is appreciated.

If you're looking to Oneida/Vilas, I have a cabin i could keep open for you tll mid- October... modern 2 bed 1 bath (in Sugar Camp on columbus lake) - would put you 5 miles south of eagle river and within 20-30 miles of most of the popular fall musky lakes. email me if you are interested, i'll give you a good off season rate.
