| Hi
I'm one of the rare creatures known as Swedish muskie-nuts.
I'm planning on going with a guide for a week next summer (if i can afford it). I'd like to burn 10's and fish some topwater in a lake where the chanse to get a really big fish is high but i also don't want to be in a lake where you see hundreds of other musky hunters every day.
Prefferable not LOTW as i have fished it quite a bit already and would like something new.
I'm thinking ofgoing to Lake Vermillion with Jason Hamernick, good choice? From what i have heard Vermillion is similar to LOTW and Jason is an awesome guide. Early august would be a good time right? |

| muskyhunter47 has it exactly right if luke is booked up go out with Bob Benston I think is how you spell his last name i apoligize for my spelling they both guide out of vermilion dam lodge. www.vdl.com Ed the owner will hook you up. be carefull tho vermillion gets alot of pressure especially at prime times and especially during moon phases. |

Location: Elko - Lake Vermilion | Vermilion Is NOT the lake if you want to fish without other Muskie fishermen around.
It is highly preasured for Muskies.....I believe there are about 20-24 guides on the lake on any given day through out the season........And that doesn't include the walleye or Bass Guides !

Or Jason Hammernick, wherever he is fishing. |

| If solitude is a part of your criteria there are several better choices than Vermilion. Take time to compare $$ too. You might find Rowan compares well from a money standpoint and is off the charts better concerning fishing pressure. |

Location: Lake Country, Wisconsin | as stated, you heard incorrectly about Vermilion being like LOTW. Not even close to the same experience.
If you want to head back to Canada and do something different while also having a good guide I can vouch for Andy Meyers Lodge on Eagle Lake. Those guys are very dialed in and will be able to give you a fighting chance at some big fish while still having that feeling of getting away. |

| Ok, just to clarify a few things.
I just meant structure wise when i said LOTW and Vermillion were similar, as i have only fished one of the lakes.
So Vermillion is pretty packed that time of year... Any tips on other lakes that don't get the same fishing pressure? What guide on that water? |

| Hands down you need to go with Mike Hulbert, I have been out with him twice this year and he rocks. You will catch fish and have a shot a big fish. |

This is very true (in the US) with the possible exception of Green Bay.
Some good Canadian waters like Georgian Bay will be a lot less crowded. |

Location: Minnesota | I'm not saying Luke is better. it comes down to what lake. all the guides mention above are all very good on there home lake. it comes down to what lake you want to fish.I would not go to lake st Clair and hire Luke there are better guide s then him on that body of water.. pick a lake then find a guide for that body of water. |

I don't know if he's better but that's who Jason told my brother in-law he should go with since he was staying on Mille Lacs. |
