| I am thinking about building (or having someone build me) a bump board. For those of you that have made your own, would you mind posting some pics to give me an idea? Also any tips or pointers on making it would be greatly appreciated.

Location: Lake St.Clair | Dont have any pics but we just cut some thinner wood and bought a measure bump board sticker. Cut the board in half and added small hinges and finely measured and placed the sticker straight. |

Location: Northern Wisconsin | Home depot has vinyl trim, $15 for an 8' board. It is light, floats, and easy to cut. Add some hinges and epoxy a tape measure on. |

| Vinyl trim, very easy to do.. I don't have a pic of mine but it didn't take long to make and only cost about $10. you can get the measuring tape from the sewing dept at any walmart. just glue it down. |

Location: Madtown, WI | Made mine out of cedar, couldn't find any good measuring tape that read both ways the right direction so I just used a wood burner and stencil for the numbers and a bic marker for the lines. Used a roundover router bit on the edges. Then a coat of stain/polyurethane. I think it cost me $14 and the SS hinges were half that. Still looks like the day I made it!

| Lowes has 2 x 8's made out of pvc. Bought a 8' board, made the total lenght 60" cut a piece to put on the narrow part of board to bump nose up to then put the rest of the "scrap across the back of the first piece. Get you a stainless steel hinge with stainless screws and you are in. Ed Jackson Lures sells a sticker that you lay on it and you have your measurements. Think I had $60.00, 2 hours, and a few beers involved. I'll try ot post pics on here later tonight or tomorrow. |

Location: Kansas City BBQ Capitol of the world | Here is the one I came up with. on the top I have electrical tape for minimum Crappie, Bass and Walley lengths.
On the nose bump I put a weight chart. and on the bottom I put Velcro on all 4 corners to keep it from sliding around the boat.
Painted it Black to match my boat and clear coated it in coats of poly acrylic.
It was a fun little project.

Location: Kansas City BBQ Capitol of the world | I found that online at the Missouri's Muskies Inc site a few years ago. It uses the standard method for poundage.
Like I told Musk E and what std showed on his slick board, you can make them any way you like.

| Ron,
Great looking board. I love what you did with it. Can you give an approximate cost? And where did you get your measuring sticker? |

Location: Kansas City BBQ Capitol of the world | I honestly don't remember how much it cost but I remember it wasn't that much. I pretty much had everything in the Garage.
I bought the vinyl tape measures at Hobby Lobby and just glued them on the board using a square to get them lined up across after I painted it with paint I had on hand. I original wanted White tape measures but they only had one left in stock so I settled for the Yellow ones.
I think the vinyl tape measure were around 3 bucks a piece? The dowel was probably 2 bucks and I had glue and screws on hand. The hinges were maybe 3 dollars apiece? The wood I dunno 20 dollars? I may have had that too.
I had some Velcro and thought that would be good on the bottom to keep it from sliding around and I had the electrical tape on hand.
I painted it, got all the tape on it and I found the weight chart and just printed it out on a color printer and lightly glued it and then gave it a light coat of poly acrylic. When that dried more coats when I seen it didn't ruin that paper and then coated the whole board. Every time I put a sticker on it it gets a new coat of poly too so there are multiple coats on it.
So I would say I spent around 40 bucks + or -?
Hope that helps,
Ron
