Is this turning out to be an exceptional year for big fish ? Pretty new to the site and I'm blown away by the size and quantity of fish I'm seeing.
Cant wait to see what fall will bring

I'll stick my neck out here a bit and say I think the fish I have caught all year long are considerably fatter than the ones caught in the last two years. I started to notice this early on when the fish coming off spawn were all marked with the usual bruises of romance but not with the usual really skinny look you see in early May. I have no exact explanation, but suspect that they somehow had an easier time getting through the winter.

Fish are running fatter for sure with cool H20 temps... Fall should produce some extremely fat cows!

For me numbers are about the same but size is down. Another few weeks and all that can change.

Lots more people on the water this year compared to last year. Most of the ethical C&R muskie fisherman gave the fish a break last July because the water was too warm.

The big fish section is crazy !! 12 year olds catching 48" ers, personal bests everywhere... Gonna be a 60" plus caught this fall !!!
