| I'm very new to the sport and need some help. I have an Abu Garcia revo toro 50 hs. I was wondering what size line to use. I have been told to go 80lb test. However, when making long casts will I have enough line on the reel so I'm not getting into my backing? |

I doubt you cast 200 yards so you'll be fine.

| Is 65 too light. I will be casting about everything but mostly jigging red October baits |

Location: midwest | I would stick with 80 for the added insurance if you are fishing the Niagra because of the zebra mussells. |

Location: minnesota | I prefer 80 but I have 65 on one of my smaller reels and that set-up has caught the most / biggest fish out of all my stuff. Just make sure to check the last few feet for fraying every once in a while. I also re-tie often. |

Location: sneaking out to get on the water ;-) | Go with 80# going to 65# may cost you baits and the 50 will hold more than enough 80# than you can cast. I have secveral 50s all with 80# and have never seen the backing. |
