When I leave my boat with the engine down, I notice that after about 5 days the skeg is resting on the ground. It has power tilt/trim so I guess it has a pressure leak?

How do you check fluid? I have never seen fluid coming out anywhere, but I have never done any maintenance to the tilt trim before. (except for years ago I had the dealer check it out and replace the fluid (I think)

Is it possibly just the screw for the manual movement of the motor slowly working itself loose?

thanks, guys

It's possible, but more likely it's a cylinder leaking. Have both checked out.

Just rebuilt my hydraulic cylinder for the same problem. What motor and trim/tilt system are you talking about.

If it aint the manual release screw you can call a hydraulic cylinder rebuild place and see if they will do it for you. If they will then you need to take it out yourself which isnt that hard. If you dont want to try that you must take it to a service center. Mine got bad enough that it wouldnt hold the trim position while running
