Looking into getting some squirkos, mid and baby, wondering if anyone has had any luck with these lures. I have tried to search the forums for this info but only came up with how to work them.

I just got a squirko this year and I have had a few fish on. haven't thrown it a whole lot but just work it like any other glide bait.

Squirkos are a great bait! Boated several on the baby early in the year and still having luck. I tend to throw the mid size more this time of year and not long from now, possibly starting now, should start using the XL. When worked properly with a wire leader and no snap (only a split ring) these baits can swing really wide and get some awesome action. The wire leader with a split ring is most important with the baby as the other sizes are so easy to work.

I’ve had a great deal of success with both the Jerkos & Squirkos in all sizes and in many different fishing conditions. Excellent glide baits by Monster Lures. I Picked up two (2) of the new XL Squirko’s at the Milwaukee show this winter. Had an opportunity to really put them to the test recently on LOTW. During some cold front conditions, this bait was stellar. This new glide bait works absolutely effortlessly and rhythmically at any depth in the water column. Can’t wait to use them for the fall fatties this year.

Awesome, I will be picking some up. Now with the the solid wire leader snap, does it matter with there os a swivel or not?

For the swivel i have tried both and that doesnt seem to make a huge difference unless its a baby squirko. Stealth makes a leader specific for this bait and can be seen either on Monster Lures website or Stealth.
