| My wife, and fishing partner, asked me the other day to come up with a list of 5 MUST go places to musky fish. I feel bad because I can only come up with 2 must go trips. So far I have. LOTW, and Georgian Bay. I've been racking my brain, and the only other trip that I can think of is maybe LSC. Just looking for a little help and guidance in selecting a few other trips. My big kicker is I love super thick fish, ( one of the reasons for Georgian Bay). I would much rather catch a fish that has the girth, even if it means the fish may be a little shorter. Thanks for the suggestions.

Location: Leech Lake, Walker MN | I don't see Rowan lake on a list people have no idea what is here because the only access is by float plane and I under stand we all love our own boat lots of muskies hunters that come here say they will never be the same after what they have seen here and what they have caught here. | Would love to go to Rowan someday, but I would have a hard time being limited on stuff I bring and not bringing the ranger. Next stop is Lac seul, English River, Pipestone, Dryberry. Need to try some of the bigs in MN instead of always driving by. |

| Don I would love to fish Rowan. I've fished Dryberry and Rowan has been on my radar for a while now. How late into the year do you stay open? My next two are also must do's. First would be "The Larry" in the late fall. Next would be Manitou (sp) I hope is correct. Other lakes would be Mille Lacs and some of the lake out west for some tigers. |

Location: Leech Lake, Walker MN | Not just because our business is here I have fished them all they are all great waters it is just soo different not being able for every body to get here and fool with these great fish so uneducated and just being them selfs top of the line predictors .just today we are filming a fly fishing show here and we saw 20 today just on the fly had a 49on and off and a40on and off and that's on a fly! I have absolutely no problem fishing from camp or fly-in boats! My problem is "father time" , family, and $$$. The wife & family always comes first...... vacation time is no issue, last year I had to take the last six weeks off, just to burn some excess.
Just had a conversation w/ my brother in-law/fishing partner re. next year. Canada, he doesn't care when or where, I just have to pick the lake & time. Lake X is difficult to pass up! "Al we need a bigger net". We both had family commitments this year that kept us from heading north.

| 6 weeks on Eagle, Lac Seul, dozens of the best and relatively unknown lakes in Vilas and Oneida, private lakes in Vilas... I've already fished my bucket list. But... If I had endless amounts of time and money to fish other places?

Location: Maplewood, MN | LOTW is tough to beat from all aspects. Scenic, lots of fish, not many people. Another option which might not be as good looking but Mille Lacs has THICK fish. Just look at the Hamer's photos. |
