I updated my software and tried it with north up settings like i saw in some other google searches and it still doesnt work... I used a navionics chip in it earlier in the year no problem..

any other suggestions?

Location: Hayward, WI		Make sure it is a Lakemaster chip for Humminbirds(older Lowrance version wont work). Know anyone else with a Humminbird that you can have try it and make sure it is not a bad chip?

hmm, thats possible.. didnt know that

i bought it in 2008.... wonder if thats the problem?

If the chip you have has ever worked in a bird it will work in yours...
