| I'm gonna be coming up that way for a week starting next Saturday, was curious how the fishing has been on the lake. I've got my same specific spots, but wondering if there have been any certain patterns of late and if this cold front has affected the fishing much. Thanks guys! |

| Ahhh I know that's probably the best option, but I'm stubborn and a little partial to LCO! I keep telling myself "surely there's a monster in here"... |

Location: Lake "y" cause lake"x" got over fished | I am taking a trip up there in September. I talked to a few people from the area as well as a guide that will be taking me out. EVERYONE I spoke with said that there has been a BIG decline in LCO. Small class of fish starting to show up now, but were talking 28-38". Of course I am sure there are big fish in there still. but the people that fish it, say that if your going to go there. fish it for Smallies or eyes. The ski bite is clsoe to non existant. Lack of DNR stocking and tribal spearing are reasons why this lake is not what is used to be (so I have been told). But I also heard that "right now" the best way to fish this lake is to pack up all your gear and find a different water. At least when fishing skis. |

| Well, it doesn't sound like I should waste my time fishing for them much on LCO then... Since we're on the subject, what's the smallie bite been on and where? I know it's a muskie forum, but would like to get a little feedback. I've seen some 6 lbrs swimming down along the ring bars but can't seem to get them to bite... |

Really a sad situation. Such an awesome lake, tons of structure and potential galore.... Just sad. |

| Most of the of the smallies have pushed deeper off the break lines making them a little tougher to find than earlier in the season. We've still been getting them on the shallow rocks but that's usually early morning and later in the evening. |

Location: Hudson, WI | I fished it 5 years ago or so for a few days. We were on a family vaca, so I got out a few hours in the morning and evening. My old man had an absolute giant eat a Cowgirl on the deep weed edge of the Ring Bars. Giant. He lost it because it broke the split ring on the front treble.
We moved 2 other fish over the course of the week and both were sub 35". Caught about 100 snake northerns on everything we threw. All three fish came from the Ring Bars area...or that shoreline. There has to be some giants in there still, but keep in mind one person speared two 40 + pounders out of there in one weekend two winters ago, so the pickings are slim. |

| I have a place in Muskie bay I haven't fished for muskies on the Lco for two years. I just trailer to other lakes. It was an awesome lake to fish five years ago. |
