I've been using a certain brand of 80# line for many years now...haven't had any real reason to change, except I am getting a bit annoyed at how quickly it starts fraying. I put brand new line on a few spools to start the season, and without excessive use both spools are already starting to look rather worn and ratty--and really it's just from my thumbing the spool when casting.

Any suggestions for any particular brand of line that resists fraying better than another?

I like Cortland Masterbraid and Hi Seas the best right now. I also use Sufix Perf braid (NOT 832). All of these are pretty good. I tried PP Slick last year and it frayed pretty badly.

Tuf-Line XP 80# has been good to me, Matt. Tried 832, but it seemed to backlash more for me and my thumb didn't like how it dried out completely when going between spots.

I've had good luck with both 80# Tuffline Plus and XP. They both come in white now.

I have been using 832 with great results, and for no reasons against sufix, I got some bronzeback 80lb for my bucktail rod and am quite pleased.

Sufix 832. Stick with ghost or camo. The green makes Kool-Aid the first couple trips.

TuffLine XP - 80#

Made the switch from power pro about 3 years ago and never had a problem. Good friend of mine uses Suffix and has nothing but problems.
