How many people on here use the hs for double tens. I used throw them with a Calcutta 400B but my results got much better when I started using the revo toro hs. I honestly don't think the pull is that bad on the arm. In assuming the fish like the faster speed that the bucktail is moving at with this reel. The only time the arm gets sore is if I'm pulling against the boat or wind. How much faster does the tranx crank these 10s in than an hs?

I have a toro 60 HS and use it and the 5.4:1 Toro both for bucktails including 10's and really like the reels. That being said i have used a Tranx high speed and there is a very noticable difference. It is FAST. I haven't pulled the trigger because i don't know how much i really need that much speed for that price, but if you are going for speed the Tranx is noticably faster in my opinion.

Do you think to 60 hs can be to fast at times? Water is in low 70s and haven't seen a thing!

I was looking at the HS Toro for bucktails myself.  It comes down to value, in my opinion.  However, everyone values things differently

Some quick internet research summarizes poplular reels as follows:

Reel                     Gear Ratio         Inches per crank/turn     Price

Tranx HG                6.6:1                          40"                          $499

Tranx PG                4.6:1                          30"                           $499

Calcutta D 400         5.1:1                          27"                           $379

Curado EJ                6.9:1                         32"                           $269

Luna                       5.1:1                          23.6"                        $289

ABU NaCL HS60         6.4:1                         31"                           $299

ABU NaCL  60           5.4:1                          26"                           $299

The Tranx PG and NaCL 60HS pull in the same amount of line per crank.... but the Tranx should do it with less effort to turn the handle... but is a big and bulky reel.  To choose between these is personal preference and budget driven.

The Tranx HG is no doubt the fastest.

When you look at the pricetags on all these reels... it sure is nice to "try before you buy" so you know for sure that the reel you choose is the best fit for YOU.
