My family takes a vacation every year to the Park Rapids area and I generally head out muskie fishing with my uncles while I'm up there. We've went to Leech and Mantrap in the past and plan to hit those lakes again. We'll be up there the first week of August. I was wondering if you guys had any lure/color suggestions, structure to look for, or any other useful information. My uncles have never caught a muskie but are hooked after having a few follows in years past and I would love to get them a fish or two. Feel free to post here or PM me. Thanks!!

I've had success on Mantrap with sucker and shiner colored lures. Leech is another story. Have used many colors there and all work at one time or another. Not much help for you.

Have fun,

On Mantrap I have had follows on Orange, and clown for gliders. Bucktails/spinnerbaits - black with nickel, White, and Black with Orange blades.

If you have the Minnesota Muskie maps, they have some good community spots marked.
