You'll get so many different opinions and without knowing the type of water you propose to use them in its almost a moot point. Pick ones you like and will therefore have confidence in and maybe mix it up a bit so you've got something natural, something bright or gaudy, and something dark. More important will be when and under what conditions you use which tool. And remember they are just tools. When you've picked the right tool for the job color is secondary or even less important.

I'll be fishing High Falls Flowage and the Chippewa Flowage in Wisconsin. I will also be doing a fly in trip to Canada sometime soon for Pike.

A few observations: I would not pay for any Stalker bait that does not have a clear lip. A painted lip is a big give away that this bait is not a natural thing. The fish aren't that dumb. The Stalker with the clear lip is worth having. A better bait of the same style is the Wiley 5.5" or 6.5". It is the action and the colors. Of course it costs more.
Believer color and size: For pike the 6" size is all you need. I've taken them on 8" but if I was targeting pike I would always throw 6". For musky I would throw anything from 6" to 8", nothing bigger. Give them an easy meal or snack. For both pike and musky I would want the natural sucker color, every time. For pike I would also want the Historical color red and white; and maybe bloodline perch too. Natural walleye is another choice. For musky, natural walleye and perch. If the water is clear, natural perch. If stained, orange bellied perch.
In Jakes, I would want the 6" size for pike; and 6" size only. Downsize the hooks to #1. Better action. For pike: firebelly, Holo darter, and silver shiner. Can't miss. For musky: 6" and 8" in natural colors, with maybe firetiger thrown in. A black perch is a nice choice for muskie.
Can't say a darn thing about Hellhounds.

We sure do catch some REALLY dumb fish around here on non clear lipped baits. I always thought they were the smart ones because they resisted all the other clear lipped baits that went past them.

Does having a clear lip really matter that much? I'm pretty sure plenty of muskies are caught on non clear lip lures including am i right?

Yea i'm with you painted lips may not look the greatest or as natural but musky will still hit them. Fish don't care that much, if the bait is in the right place at the right time they will hit it regardless of lip color.

Actually Swannie, muskies are that dumb. Completely dumb.

Tell me what natural forage looks like a bucktail? Now you get it?

Clear lip means nothing when you think about it. And you have to do the thinking, because the muskies can't.

As for Drifter colors? Fire Tiger, YB Perch, and Pearl have been good to me.
