What wind direction do you prefer and how does it help you?

I prefer a SW wind because my records show that I have put more fish in the boat with that wind. SW winds are normally under stable conditions too.

South to West winds are my favorite.... BUT.....I have patterns to use in any wind situation.

For summer,I`ll take the east,as normally this means a little cooler and an approaching front! That has always been good to me! Handy
Oh ya, bigger winds too!

I would have to say a 5-15mph Southeast wind seems to get the fish going in June and July. I also like a brisk NW wind that makes 2-2.5 footers. Fish seem to move up under these conditions in late august.

Let me start by saying that some wind is better then no wind at all.

I would have to say North winds are to damn cold and the worst. Second worse are east winds then again they are good for some realy big fish but very few.

Top of my list would be west and south winds.

Boy up here we can't buy wind on hot summer days but can't get a calm day in October. [:sun:]

South West for numbers, Northwest just before the change to Southwest for big girls.[:0]

I love a good southwest wind, it makes my good spots great. 15 to 25mph is a stiff wind but will keep some of the good spots clear of over crowding and ready to produce for me.

If I never feel another breeze I'll be fine! 40-60 mph possible tonight...actually I like a SW in freshwater, and the same if the h2o is cold in saltwater; a good nor'easter though can stimulate some hiny kicking surf fishing in the fall! My mobile Carolina Skiff TUB goes wacky in the wind, so I mostly troll anyhows. Thanks for asking![:sun:]

South or southwest has always been good in the spring. As for summer, give me a wind that will blow on the best structures. Sometimes that may be an east or north wind. In the fall, give me a wind that won't freeze my tail off.
